I was a long time moderator on Occult Corpus and I was sad to see the site fade away. I ended up migrating over to Studio Arcanis and it unfortunately looks to have gone dark too.

I have been practicing the occult and mysticism for 15 years. My practice in the last 7 years has revolved around spirits. I have a regular morning and evening practice, with occasional rituals sprinkled in due to timing for special evocations.

Hi. Welcome. I tried signing up for StudioArcanis some time ago but never got a reply and later read you need to sign up through Facebook (which I don't have). Well, now I'm here.

Wait, SA is dead? Wow. That's sad. So it's just WF and BALG out there as mainstream occult forums now?

So strange that occult discussion sites are dying out online in this day and age when I think it should be getting more popular as people become more open minded, and as internet communities grow.

For the record, I'm not sure that SA is dead. It has been down for about a month now.

Many internet forums died out once web 2.0 took over. Many people migrated towards FB discussion groups, which I don't personally care for although I do belong to a couple that are private.

Yeah, that's true. Facebook groups are convenient and accessible for casuals/new agers, but you'd think there'd be a decent subset of people interested in a more structured and mature discussion format...

However, I will say that with some recent coverage on media, TV shows, movies, social media etc, interest in the occult is definitely gaining traction and I expect communities such as WF will grow and thrive in the coming years.

I'd say it's dead. I'm a member there since 2010 and was a mod there for two years so I'm inducted into their Private Forum as well as their Facebook Group. On Facebook the current admin acknowledged the site being down but basically said he has no idea what's going on and some people are still able to access it........and that was it. He made ONE post back on like Oct 11 (may be off by a few days and don't feel like taking the 10 seconds it would take to double check lol) and that was it. There wasn't another mention of the forum being down and everything went on as normal on the Facebook Group. So I'd say it's down for good which sucks because I don't know where else to find initiated practitioners of the ATRs/ADRs or Enochian magicians in a central location. Sure there's the International Association of Readers and Rootworkers but that's not a forum and they're all mainly hoodoo practitioners.

As for occult discussion dying out, I agree. It's a shame and sad and it leaves the door WIDE open for New Age nonsense to creep into occultism, which it has, and causes people to fall into the mental masturbation trap.

Welcome to the forum mate! What type of mysticism do you practice? I'd consider myself a Christian Mystic due to my Abrahamic practice.

Welcome, my dude! Always sad to see sites like that die out. Nice to have another experienced person on, though. Make yourself at home!

Hell, I was laughing last year when National Geographic just started this months-long descent into madness, covering specific shit like western occultism and witchcraft as their own monthly editions. Got to watch that shit go down on the store checkout shelf for a while. Guess they ran out of shit to talk about, because this wasn’t even just for October.

I very much respect Christian mysticism. I love St. Francis.

Between 2008-2010 I practiced a form of meditation based on The Work of the Chariot and that included meditation to aid in having mystical dreams. I had some intense experiences, some of which were immediately verified in the waking world.

From 2010-2014, I practiced a form of Buddhist Vajrayana meditation taught by Chogyal Namkai Norbu. I had a couple of interesting experiences with this form of meditation.

I then had an experience with a set of spirits that showed up that are written about in Voudon Gnostic Workbook. I had a close friend who was working with them and after reading about them, they showed up to me in the middle of the night and gave me quite a shock. I hadn't even done the ritual to contact them. I literally jumped out of my bed and yelled at them. I woke my wife up (she's not into the occult, although she found out after I started working with spirits that she's very psychic). What happened afterwards is a long story that I would be willing to explain later if you are interested.

It set me on a path of evocation and Spiritism. I don't know exactly what I would call what I practice. I jokingly told my mentor in my most recent letter to him (he's in his 80s and has written some well known occult books) that I'm starting to think of myself as a Gnostic Oceanic Pagan, which I would have thought of as a weird joke a decade ago. I'm even considering making a set of occult writings and a lodge out of my work devoted to healing, but I don't know that I will go through with it since I have an aversion to groups even though what I have in mind would be completely non-hierarchical.

Bro.... fuckin The Guardian and Huffington Post try and push witchcraft articles ALL THE FUCKIN TIME and it's annoying as hell because it's all this high school new age nonsense. Oh you wanna get the cool jock in math class to like you? Carry Moldavite in your back pocket and say "Kalamazoo" twelve times in the bathroom and he will love you. Like.....YO SHUT THE FUCK UP! what does any of the nonsense even mean 😂. Ok end rant cuz I'm getting pissed off and my punch a homeless person (not really, don't cancel me, just a joke lol)

By the "work of the chariot" I assume you mean the Merkabah visions that Peter....or was it Paul....had? Good sir, I think I like you!

Not sure how I feel about the VGW, I tend to not like backdoors into systems that require initiation but after reading short texts like "Waters of Return: The Flow of Aeonic Voodoo" I'm starting to see how systems like that are inspired by the ATRs/ADRs rather than being a backdoor or cheap imitation.

I didn’t say it wasn’t a bunch of basic bitch normies trying to use the most watered-down version of this shit their pea brains can handle…Because that’s totally what it is. 😂
