Any Kriya Yoga practitioners here?

I don't know much about the Kriya Yoga tradition beyond what I've read (e.g. Yogananda's famous book), though a decade ago my magical journey was basically hatha yoga and Bardon. I'm more and more drawn to reading about Kriya Yoga though, and I recently bought and am reading "Kriya Secrets Revealed: Complete Lessons and Techniques" by J C. Stevens.

I am thinking about getting initiated into Kriya Yoga, but don't really know anything about the lineages in the United States. That'll be the next thing to research. Anyone here from a Kriya Yoga lineage? Care to share your experience and whether you recommend it or not?

I am not from a lineage per say, I think you should check out all sorts of lineages if you are interested.
I like it because I have had, in my dabblings, experiences from it. I think the masters/gurus are real and wish to help, if you do certain practices the charge seems to come and can even take over briefly, it is pleasant. The masters such as Babaji, Agastya, etc in my opinion are not dependent on any particular lineage being followed but will come to you with or without one, just that a structured practice format will help systemize it rather than doing it at random (which is okay too). I have felt gripped and like I've lost all thought, after chanting into the energy centers, but I am inexperienced so I get shocked and jolted back into myself. With time I believe soaking in it would be easier and easier and also of benefit.

I like a group called Amrita Mandala, now going by Open Heart, they have kriya yoga on their free YouTube channel. They used to have it for free on their website but I guess they changed it which I personally disagree with but oh well. I have experienced direct effects from the practice they describe, so I like it.
I guess I have more practiced it a little than read much, reading is good just don't let ideas cloud direct experience
Again though I suggest 'shopping around' to see what would suit you as long as it's working. Good luck on your journey

Yes, I am initiated. It is a good initiation and practice. I highly recommend it to my students and those on the path.
