I've been studying the Grimoire of Armadel (Mathers' translation) and I'd like to hear from people who have actually operated it, not just read it.
A few things I'm trying to sort out before I start:
1. The idiosyncratic attributions. Armadel's day/spirit assignments don't follow the standard planetary scheme, it puts Raphael on Sunday (not Wednesday), names a "Samael" as the spirit of John the Baptist teaching theology on Wednesday, Uriel teaching natural science / physics / medicine on Wednesday, Gabriel teaching prophecy + "health and understanding" on Thursday, etc. Do you run these as written, or do you reconcile them with
2. The method is bare. Essentially: stand in the circle, recite Pater / Ave / Credo, then the teurgic Conjuratio ("Omnipotens Aeterne Deus… send me the Spirit N.N. of the … order… non mea voluntas sed Tua"), then the license to depart; seals on virgin parchment. Do you wrap it in a fuller opening (banishing, etc.) or keep it strictly as the text gives it? What circle do you use the book only points to its own "Preparation of the Soul."
3. The seals. Do you draw them in the colors the manuscript marks (red / green / black), on virgin parchment? Mathers names three uses: evocation, talisman, and astral gate (scrying) and warns the evocation route is "the most advanced and dangerous." Which did you start with?
4. Results & cautions. Any concrete experience with the "knowledge" angels (Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael)? And any warnings about the demon sections?
Not after theory I've read that. After what actually happened when you worked it, and what you'd tell someone starting out.
Thanks u all : )
