Hey there. This is a great place to start! Protection is always the first magick I tell people to learn. If this is your intention, I would study a few different methodologies in order to find the ways that resonate for you. A lot of the Witches I have studied with will often stack methods of protection, for example- They will create a talisman to hang over the door, cast a particular working over the members of their family, create a relationship with a guardian spirit to work in support of all the other workings. I sometimes joke that I'm not build a wall with my protection magick- I'm building a complex series of walls, but the keys should be easy to find if the spirit knows where to look.
