Seeking Recommendation Books and Papers Discussing Different Views and Subdivisions of The Soul/Self

I'd like to know if there is any comprehensive work, academic or occult, that discusses how different cultures see the Soul (or souls, as the case may be) and it's different parts. Works that talk about the Self(/Selves) are also appreciated. Works that narrow down on a single culture's view of the soul/self are also welcomed.

I have been developing my own ideas about the self and I feel like I really need some historical context as to how different peoples view it. It'd be a great help.
