The burned-out area is all single-family homes. This fire will result in them being replaced by corporate condos, a project that has been in development for many years with those homes being the only real obstacle. Expect similar things in Lahaina.
My hope is that the people in these burned-out places, and the other ones certain to follow, recognize that it has been done to them on purpose; and with that realization in mind, I hope they burn and destroy whatever gets built over the places from which they were driven.

its the olympics, of course. they do the same shit everywhere, in my city there was "word on the street" of giant detention facilities , fema shit, where they stuck all the homeless people, they were forcing mentally ill people on busses with on eway tickets.... and of course dont forget human trafficking.
seems pretty fucking obvious to me, a city full of mostly brown people, and evidence of god knows what theyd like to dispose of, between some rich scumbags and a big fat land grab.

if its on tv, if its a popular youtube channel, its likely cleverly manufacture propaganda. like, think about it. why would a climate activist start huge statewide fires, erasing the lives and livelihoods, properties of workling class and brown people, plus all the animal and plant life.... a pretty shaky logical underpinning masked by some emotionally charged language, pointing a finger.... like at what ends? for big climate change??? then its not "climate activists" its fucking lobbyists and freaks like bill gate trying to pull some wool over some eyes or another while making a shitload of cash and advancing globalisation... not bloody renegade climate activists...

Mayor Karen Bass' deer-in-the-headlights moment has GOT to rank right up there with the Buddha's "flower sermon," with Cratylus' wagging his finger as great teachings in the eloquence of silence. What a RELIEF from "mansplaining," right? Because "there are few problems that cannot be solved by a glazed stare." Leadership for the 21st Century. "Taking charge: it's not for the competent alone anymore." THAT is true diversity and inclusion. Reminds me that after Aesop's race, the animals had to deal with a forest fire. So they sent the tortoise because their cutting-edge testing metrics dictated that the historially marginalized testudine species were entitled to a chance in redefining outdated emergency-response roles. I think the local gub'ment peepole were just stupid and mismanaged funds and resources for whatever political mess they abide by. Wildfire started, people who wanted to have some chaotic fun started setting fires. And/or there might be people with more destructive aims that also took advantage of the situation. People who stand to benefit just stand back and benefit.

Nestle "wastes" or "uses"? Personally, I don't find pistachios necessary. But I am wondering where one draws the line at what gets counted as "waste" of water. Me, I'd say lawns are a waste. Local homeowners' associations would take umbrage, doubtless. I know a legal marijuana shop owner in Oregon who'd get in my face if I suggested her crop were less needful than, say, potatoes. The bottom line is, if you pack enough competing interests into a small ednough space, you're going to get too many demands. Then any chance accident can look like conspiracy.
That city is a cesspit of corruption and disfunction. I heard they found evidence of bubonic plague in places that had essentially turned open air rubbish pits a few years before 2020. Nothing surprises me about just how far the corruption runs there or the depths it would sink too. That said.. good people do exist there.. I know a few personally. However they are islands in what otherwise a sea of corruption. Anyone who is living there... wants to be there.. because it isn't a city/county for the feint of heart.
As far as the fires go, I've heard a couple of things, what is truth is not clear. Perhaps it's a multiple choice all of the above... who knows! Anyway... my cousins who lives there said his friend saw a plane fly over some areas and "shoot a laser" according to him. I can't confirm that though. My uncle thinks it was homeless camps that were pushed to periphery of the city and eventually setting up camps in the local state/regional parks. Another family member claims it was a migrant who riding a motor cycle along the freeway and lighting adjacent brush on fire with makeshift torch. I can't verify any of that. Most likely it's multiple causes. What is clear though is that the city administration was obviously not prepared and the reason being are tied to corruption in local government. That isn't shocker to me personally but just how badly underprepared they were is... It's gonna be awhile before anyone it's gets to the bottom of it though that's for certain!
