Hello fellow WF members, :)

I have just joined this community. :)

I wish for some guidance. :)

1. The books I have read:
Modern Magick-Kraigg, Greater Key Of Solomon, Lesser Key Of Solomon, The Book Of Abramelin-vonWorms, Satanic Bible-LaVey, Miracle New Avatar Power-Cobb, The secrets of New Avatar Power-Cobb, The book of the Law, Magick in theory and practice (stopped at page 49)-crowley, Liber null-half, Red Grimoire (skimmed it), Ars Notoria (a few pages), Enochian Magic for beginners (stopped at page 87). I was planning to read even more Crowley books, like, many of them. The equinox, (stopped somewhere in the beginning) (I checked out AA. Curriculum, but I can't do it I can't get it. My brain exploding)

2. Hello. I am overwhelmed.
I have no idea what to do. I was consistent, but I was not. I did the basic rituals from Modern Magick (LBRP, Hexagram, Adorations, Rosy Cross, The Middle pillar.) From other books I also did, (Prayers, consecrating water, Invocation of Solomon from Greater Key Of Solomon because I wanted to continue, but materials were a challenge.) Then I was so happy I found New Avatar Power (first book, not the secrets yet), I did Daily for a good period, the easy no material rituals that's why I was hooked, those rituals are: The NAP ritual, Chant to exite love (yes I tried), Meeting your magic mentor, Uncrossing ritual. I had also noted what happened all days. But I stopped because I began to become skeptic. And after that I began reading the Miracle of New Avatar power, and that book didn't hook me.

3. I have read grimoires.
I have read books. And yet I feel empty. With no direction. That's why I thought Crowley would be cool. Or a curriculum, or Golden Dawn. Or something. But so far, I struggle, with materials, with motivation to put my nose in even more dosen of books hoping that something would hit me in a way that I can get the ropes and get them, to climb the rope, and not to feel like all my reading, and work and study was for little use due to lack of materials. I struggle with finding a practice. And yes I know you can compromise materials. But I just- really?

I could read all Crowley books, and then doing the rituals that I can do, probably, and then eventually after months or years, the Communication with the holy guardian angel.
I could do enochian but I know the materials are insane.
I could do AA curriculum but my brain will literally vomit from all crypticness.
I could do Golden Dawn, but these basic rituals, really do not give me color anymore. I feel they are grey.

And grimoires were pretty cool! Long spells though, many many materials.. Language, okay. It's doable. But I didn't commit to them, it's quite advanced, and I think I am not proficient to do this, to work with spirits straight from a grimoire since I don't even know a whole lot of how spirits work really I don't feel comfy.

I could go astral. I fall asleep easy. But my goal is still to astral project. And with that I don't need guidance, it's just reading, practicing, techniques, so on. I got close, buzzing ears, vibrations on chest and body. Colors seeing. So it will come. (If I don't fall asleep. But practice will help me)

But with magick. Oh boy. My brain is hurting I don't know what to do anymore. Sniffing more books until I pass out? Doing some rituals from the books I read even though I feel I lack something? Oh my.
By the way side note: I am probably Left Hand Path. And, I am just looking for directions and advice, I read, and did some things, but nothing hits.. Yet.

Help :)))

Hoi,
Modern Magick-Kraigg
this is the one I always recommend, so it seems you got that already. From there you probably also figured out that tools (Solomonic / Enochian etc) can always be made by hand, so that shouldn't be the problem. If you however think that you're
probably Left Hand Path
then all those will just go against what you feel inside / want to get to. Especially things like
Prayers, consecrating water, Invocation of Solomon from Greater Key Of Solomon
as those really are more about the religious part of Magick (in my opinion) but sticking with something also is about willpower. If you've done all of this already and it's not for you then maybe demonolatry or Chaos magick is more your taste.

Here is my opinion...
One of my local books that didn't translate into English, has as first lesson to set your magical goal: What do you want to achieve through study of magic? If you lack direction in your magic practice, then it is probably because you have no final goal you seek to achieve. No magnum opus to complete, no ideal that you want to endlessly follow, etc.

So who are you and what do you want? should be questions you should ask yourself.

You likely need to self initiate, pick one book that resonates with you and work with that until the path opens itself up to you. It has been my experience that as my practice deepens, more of the path unfolds before me through practice and not through direct study. I still have a very eclectic study and am constantly reading, but at this point I am fine tuning a system that has revealed itself to me through initiation into my deity.

Re-examine what you have learned thus far.
With what you stated as your accomplishments, has the work with the Hermetic Principles been able to change your life towards your own purification and transformation? Have you achieved your apotheosis? If you have not, what direction do you believe to be your next for the Great Work?

What are your thoughts of studying non-Western Mystery Traditions? What about more Tribalist/Shamanistic work? Have you looked into the mysteries of the Tao?

Think of it as fishing. If you stir the waters continually in the hopes that something will bite, what you are looking for can be knocking you over the head and still you will miss it. This is a common enough experience, because you are fishing for something extremely subtle here. You have set your intention for it though. You have called to it, invited it into your life. Let that suffice. Now, be watchful. Be receptive to what you are learning to experience, and let the current surprise you. This too is a magickal practice. The power will find you right where you are -- bored, frustrated, confused and looking all over for special effects as though they were your car keys an hour before you need to see your boss. But where else would it be looking for you, this power? It has to find you where you are. See, it isn't really about rituals and incantations and exercises and such. It is more about becoming sensitized to something you never looked for because you were not taught to look for it in the first place. If you want to have fun with it...try "questing" or go join a creative collective where all manner of experimentalists go about summoning urban legends with a bit of Larping and multi-media performance art/psychodrama thrown into the cauldron. The reason I say this is because magick is highly responsive to play. Kids tend to be much better at magick than adults anyway. Why? They aren't trying for it. As one of my nephews told..."its like seeing without looking".

Maybe your intuition is telling you something with your lack of motivation to read yet more (highly overrated) books.

Here's an alternative. Take up a meditation practice, and once a day visualize for a material goal you want to achieve (and do this consistently every day and then put it out of your mind at other times).

Magick is not in the books. It never was. The books are scaffolding. The grimoires are someone else’s experience. Read just enough to get started. And then go do magick.

A huge chunk of the occult reads. Endlessly. If they were actually doing magick, we’d be drowning in experience posts, not book reports and hot takes on this author or that grim.

You’re in the biggest trap right now: Thinking the secret is in the next book. It’s not. It never was. The answer is in you.

I don’t care what system you use. Chaos, demonolatry, Golden Dawn, fucking jellybean sorcery, whatever resonates. But once you choose it, go all in. That’s how the path opens.

Think of it like this: We all have a race car. Some obsess over spark plugs. Some polish the paint every weekend. Some debate tire pressure for months. But the few? The few get in the car, fire it up, and drive. They feel the fear. The speed. The crash. The truth.

Yeah, you’ll wreck. You’ll get it wrong. But that’s the only way to drive the damn thing. Stay in the garage forever if you want safety. But if you want magick? You’ve got to drive and risk the wall.

You already have the car. You already have the keys. The only thing left is to drive.

Just my perspective based on my experience. Good luck!

Seconding a time of reflection and contemplation .

Otherwise this is rather like asking what kind of screwdriver, paintbrush, or meat cleaver one should learn next. Magic is just a tool, one of many, to be used as you will in this a big, high-fidelity sandbox game we call Earth. Magic ( for effect not wisdom) is no more or less important than anything else, like mowing the grass, or starting a company, or reading your child a bedtime story.

Now is a good time to ponder is what is it you are here to do, and what do you want to experience.

Imagine yourself as very old and lying on your deathbed. You will die soon and consider then what would you regret not doing or accomplishing during your time here? Is there a creative project that interests you? A person who needs you? Do you have a book you want to write? A video game to make? A garden you want to plant and see bloom? A new kind of expedience you want to bring to the world that is right at the edge of you awareness, but you can't quite pin down. What is your Muse telling you? Then choose a type of magical study that helps you accomplish that which is yours to do.
