SYNOPSIS:
This book contains the complete, original Cypher Manuscript of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in facsimile along with fully annotated decipherment, a detailed synopsis of the text and a fascinating history of the manuscript itself. The author provides a scholarly commentary establishing the considerable value of the Cypher Manuscript and offering an elegant defense of Dr. W. Wynn Westcott's motives and methods in creating the Fraulein Sprengel ruse. Runyon suggests that there may have been a real person behind the Sprengel "Charter Myth". The book goes on to reveal The Cypher Manuscript contains the ancient design for a radically different Eleven Sphere Tree of Life. Also included is a never-before-published article written especially for this the leading Golden Dawn authority, Robert A. Gilbert, on Dr. Westcott's Cypher Notebook (including facsimiles).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Carroll "Poke" Runyon's background in occult study and practice is extensive: in 1970, following a near-death experience, and a mystic vision, he became the founder of The Ordo Templi Astartes (O.T.A.). which is now America's oldest continually operating Ritual magick Lodge. In 1980 Runyon received his Master's Degree in cultural anthropology from California State University at Northridge, specializing in Magick. After graduate school he went through all the degrees of Freemasonry in both the Scottish and York Rites.
He then undertook an intense series of Tibetan tantric initiations and training sessions under the direction of H.E. Luding Khen Rinpoche of The Sakya Order, mastering the Vajra Yogini (Goddess of the Sorcerers) system.
Carroll Runyon has served as an officer in three active Golden Dawn temples. His articles on Magick and the Western Tradition have appeared in "Gnostica magazine," and his Order's journal "The Seventh Ray." Runyon has also written, produced and narrated a 75 minute video documentary entitled: "The Magick of Solomon," and authored its companion book "The Book of Solomon's Magick".

Interesting radio program by the author, Carroll Poke Runyon on the contents of his book and topics surrounding it. He mainly discusses the 2nd edition (above I posted about the 1st edition of the book), however of course the core contents is the same, only the 2nd edition is a bit more expanded.
