Has anyone here ever worked with Catholic saints within folk witchcraft or traditional folk magic?

I'm particularly interested in how saints are approached in actual magical practice, beyond devotional Catholicism. If you've personally worked with them in this context, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences, practices, or any books/resources you recommend.

Assuming all the semantics are in the right order there should be little difference between the two. Catholicism informs what the Saints are, and what they are informs what you can do with them.

The question proposes a rift where there is none . But there are local variations.

First, just read traditional Catholic theology and philosophy first, not looking for secrets. Catholicism IS fundamentally esoteric, but in that context that word is also problematic.

Then you can look at some of the more old school New World and Mexican Catholic version where some of the older material and pratices have been preserved from European Scholasticism and modernity

This includes a number of New World Folk Catholic traditions was well as the GV, a Catholic grim. A great resource.

Heh. In light of recent philosophy-heavy conversations, this is rather apopos since the symbolism a having one's head removed, and the value of Headless-ness have been overlooked as the internet took over.
