I've been reading a lot of different forums on hexes. And I wanted to see what advice I can get on here about a tutorial for a successful hex. Any additional success stories would be helpful as well.

Are you willing to murder someone?

NAP has a few. Also, Angels of Wrath by GoM. Also, there's a binding spell in Ars Speculum by Gary St. M. Nottingham where you use a magic mirror to bind someone. You can also work with Saturn using planetary magic to bind and otherwise curse through constriction.

Is binding an alternative to hexes/curses? My apologies I'm just really out of the loop on a lot of this stuff

A binding prevents someone from performing a specific action. Since it might keep them from exercising their free will, it's considered a form of cursing.

Okay, well are there any less lethal spells to get back at someone who hurt you?

I suggest you read up on the subject. There is plenty of written material on hexing and cursing, and we have a rule against "spell begging".

Good luck.

Makes sense. I wasn't spell begging, more so generally asking about spells.

I dont know why @Lurker did that reaction. It is a valid question! 😆

I thought hexes and curses don't always result in death?
Even if they dont. They may ruin someones life. (Or yours)

Curses or "hexes" are akin to spitting poison from ones own mouth.

No, but they do seem to work significantly more reliably if you're in that headspace.

It got flagged as off topic for some reason. Here of all places I kind of expected some baseline of contextual understanding but apparently I have to spell everything out like everyone is five. No fun.

I marked it as trolling because it looked like inflammatory, polemic bait for a moralizing lecture. There has been a rash of that lately - someone asks about cursing/hexing/love spells, and instead of helping, people come along and say "Golly gee, that wouldn't be ethical or moral, so why don't you do this instead?"

I have yet to see an OP who asked to have their ethics and morals dictated to them by members of WF. It also pre-judges their motives. You have no idea what people have been through, or are going through, in their lives.

I didn't report your post, even though I do think its trollish. Obviously, a moderator agreed with whoever did. We aren't children here, so don't try to put yourself above us when you get called out for posting something so inflammatory. Use polemics at your own risk. IMO, you've made some interesting posts since joining, but that certainly wasn't one of them.

1. Write the name of the Person you want to hex on Toilet Paper.
2. Use it to clean your bum and throw it down the toilet.
3. Forget about the Person/Problem.

It's not a moral issue, it's an ethical issue and I am yet to show any signs of trying to dictate ethics to anyone. "Inflammatory" is a subjective label I refuse to argue about. What "inflamed" feelings does your brain react with to my style of conversation is for your own consideration, neither do I mind nor do I care.

Since you seem to insist: while it's again not what I meant on this occasion, in rather bad taste it is to scold people whose reaction to being asked "what knife is best for gutting someone" answer "perhaps consider not gutting someone".

That's fine, but let me quote you: "Are you willing to commit murder?"

Also, I'm going to point out that the forum has a rule against posting things that are clear violations of law - you know, like soliciting murder. Maybe that's why you got flagged.

Please quote the OP where he asked for a knife to gut someone. Again, you are exaggerating. You are acting like the only kind of curse is a death curse. You display a complete lack of empathy for the OP.

Actually, word-for-word, your quote was "Are you willing to murder someone?"

Traditionally in witchcraft you see the use of poppets and dolls quite a lot used for this purpose. They were molded out of wax or stale dough, sometimes clay, or bundles of twigs, or a knot or cord of strings tied into a bundle. Basically, the first step is to fashion some sort of effigy which will serve as a talisman for the curse. Then you would work through sympathy with the target (something that personally belongs to them or was once part of them, otherwise a photograph might work, but obviously they did not have photographs in the medieval age). Usually something like applying pins and needles to the poppet. In some traditions, this was done while singing an enchantment that has a barb to it, a poem you turned into a bitter song meant to describe the pain and sorrow you have suffered and wish this person to experience with you. Then in some traditions you would place this talisman near by the person, like outside their house or something, so that it can effect them via proximity. If the curse was meant to be long-term or permanent, you might even have to "recharge" the talisman occasionally or replace it with a new one.

This is the main method I myself have used in the past when trying to "curse" someone. It was more like, "okay you don't seem to understand the effect you are having on people around you, so let me link you into that network for a bit". I see it as forming a bridge between the suffering someone is causing that they are unaware of, and their unconscious, so that their own unconscious will start to try and get them to wake up and see whatever it is they are causing. This happens on its own, I do not have to directly intervene or confront them. After a while, the trickster spirit I have called into the talisman will do it's job of meddling with this person and causing unfortunate events to occur which all relate to and indicate what this person is themselves causing to happen to other people around them. Eventually they might mention that these weird things have been happening to them lately, and that's my cue to speak up. Once I get that confirmation that the trickster spirit has been working, I will usually say something to that person (not to give myself away) to hint at what might be the cause, suggesting that maybe if they stopped doing X or Y, then Z would go away. People that know me, know that I work with this kind of stuff because I talk about it a lot. So when I say something like that, they tend to believe me and actually listen to me.

Once the person has changed their behavior and the situation has improved, I reward and thank the spirit and formally dismiss it, closing the operation. I have only had to do this twice in my entire life, and each time it was successful. I have not had any blowback or had the situation worsen. I am very clear in the wording of my contracts about the level of mischief that is "okay". For example, I explicitly forbid them from doing anything that would bring physical injury to the person or any friends or family members of that person. Part of the ritual is trying to convey the instructions visually and symbolically in the most simplistic and easy to understand way, in addition to verbally stating the request out loud clearly and plainly, so that even a child would understand you. You have to be very clear. For this, the poppet method was very effective when I tried it, so I stick to that method, personally.

Empathy? See who's moralising now. Empathy is anyway an emotional state not a moral virtue, but it's kind of amusing that you'd try to shame me as if it was.

He asked for a way to seriously harm someone. I said "gut" because, while in relevant regards functionally equivalent to "curse", it conveys the facts of the matter in a more intuitively accessible way. That's one of applications of something called "metaphor". If you want to be very technical, not every act of pulling out someone's intestines with a sharp object will kill them. Again, what the hell is with the inability to understand simple figures of speech?

Asking if someone is willing to commit murder is very distinct from soliciting murder. One is a matter of one's abstract ethics (which I am, again, inquiring about and not trying to question), the other would be a matter of practical actions. This is, by the way, why I'm - already explicitly at this point - not assuming that every curse is a death curse. What I meant and have already spelt out is that one of the things that greatly weigh on curse's effectiveness is reaching the state of one's spirit that's equivalent to the one accompanying having actually, physically murdered the victim. That state is, might I add, not actually necessary to be consciously acknowledged (though that helps as well).

Now go on, make it even more tedious. I will walk away at some point and you'll feel like you've accomplished something.

You chose your rhetoric carefully, despite the fact that you didn't know what they intended or why, to make it all look like bloody murder.

What I meant and have already spelt out is that one of the things that greatly weigh on a curse's effectiveness is reaching the state of one's spirit that's equivalent to the one accompanying having actually, physically murdered them.

This is your opinion and possibly your experience. That doesn't make it universal. But, if you had stated that to begin with, we wouldn't talking about it now. Instead, you posted one question: "Are you willing to commit murder?"

And for the record, I don't scold people. I've kept my opinions on this matter (and other matters) to myself, and was planning on keeping them to myself. But @Accipeveldare asked an honest question so they got an honest answer.

Now go on, make it even more tedious. I will walk away at some point and you'll feel like you've accomplished something.

Was this tedious enough for you? No, I know I haven't accomplished anything, it's pointless to bother trying. So long.
