Hello,

through a probably 'made up' enochian book I found on Miskatonic books - the 'Ordines Descendens' claimed to be by 'John Dee' -
that was the 'a lost counterpart of the angelic system' or the 'demonic mirror' of it, I remembered something I saw while researching Enochian.

I researched the Enochian Heptarchy some while ago and found the old website again
on which I found the story of John Dee getting a 'false demonic Lamen' first,
then Uriel corrected him and gave him his Angelic Lamen instead.

It was curious to me that, according to the information from this old website,
the actual Angelic Lamen was to be made of parchment of 4 inches in diameter with yellow oil paint -
today the Angelic Lamen is commonly made of gold - commonly sold this way by jewelers too.

The 'false Lamen of the Devil' that is more goetian in nature however was the one to be made in gold.
I found that very curious and it made my interest in the first Lamen spark.

I contacted the author behind the post that was made around 2000 to find out the origins,
or more general information on the first Lamen, and got an answer by him today.
It is too long ago to remember for him, but he assured me he was using primary sources from John Dee.

I would appreciate if anyone versed in Enochian or with Dee's Scripts could help to find the source of this
'first false Lamen'. If anyone recognizes some Sigils on it that would also be of great help, it would be interesting to find out the associated spirits.

With the backwards image search I was pointed towards some resemblance to seals from the 'Small key of Solomon'.

This is the first 'demonic Lamen' i try to find more about:

Hi, that first lamen is given in Five Books (by Peterson) and Enochian Magic for Beginners by Tyson (and probably every other book on Enochian as well)

It seems I should read more of the classics on Enochian then, thank you!

I think there will not be many words 'wasted' on this Lamen then, it seems to me if the Lamen is some sort of 'sign' to stay in the Angelic paradigm... Could Imagine it to be. Or just a short instance of Dee being in contact with a trickster before Uriel clarified.

That being said, these powers are beyond good and evil anyways and Angels can work with one for the good deed or ill intent, so looking for 'sinister counterparts' seems a bit like a lost cause. The 'fake Dee grimoire' seems to work in strong potency for some, but as enochian is to be treated with caution like any other potent system I will not work with the 'Ordines Descendens' any time soon.
