can anyone that had experience a benefit like this from working a deity share their experience.I m looking for a deity that can enchance my psyichal and martial arts skill.
Any war deity can help you with that. I wonder if there is a pantheon without a god of fight or war.
Mars, agreed, also Ares, Thor and Tyr, Maybe Hercules, I think that Michael is considered war angel, but not 100% sure...
Herakles. He’s associated with physical strength, combat, and overcoming difficult challenges.
If you’re looking to improve your physical and martial abilities, he seems like a pretty good choice for that kind of work.
I don'thinks gods of war are suitable for single combat - wars cause too many casualties in furtherance of the objectives of military leaders. Here's a quote I once read: "Karate means overcoming difficulties", so I'd recomment Ganesha - train as hard as you can, as much as your time allows and your body can bear. If you're not well prepared, you'll always be in the position of undertrained and inexperiened troops in wars who aren't much more than canon fodder, so get as much unscripted sparring under your belt as you can. Heroics are for posers, you have to be calm under fire - the more excited you become, be it from fear or fake bravery, the more stupid mistakes you'll make, like stupidly charging forward against stronger opponents. Trickster gods would also be a good idea, good fighters can read rookies like an open book, and over time you'll learn how to give nothing away and fight intelligently (and deviously). Hm... in capoeira Exu is sometimes invoked, that would be another idea.
and dont forget the other side ; Minerva ! Martial arts requires 'tactics' , wisdom, strategy . Otherwise you charge in attacking and get yer head knocked off ;
as a green belt , long ago , I could sometimes beat or Black belt shodan instructor , But never his brown belt brother . The brother had those 'extra ' skills ... he used his 'main weapon' well ;
She also helps with 'medicine and recovery ' ; my head teacher and Master ( Kosei Nishihira ) would do some type of 'reiki' where he could alleviate pain and injury on an student that got injured in training .
I have found other 'non-physical' means for this , but they do not relate to 'deity' , as such .
BUT all of this is an ADJUNCT to proper training and STUDY ( teacher would emphasize this ; STUDY the art , all aspects of it , not just the physical training and practice .

Well said ... Mars also has a RECKLESS aspect ( as I said; rush in and get your head knocked off ) .
Hercules ? Meh, his solution is mostly ' Hulk smash ! ' His weapon is his club . His opposite, to me, seems to be Ulysses , he might use that approach but he also uses his best weapon ; smarts and wit , according to differing situations .
Interesting stuff about capoeira Exu ! Yes, that would be a deity . There would be no direct one in my tradition (Okinawan 'crane' ) however the Ainu of northern Japan revered the Red Crowed Crane as a 'marsh God ' . There is no equivalent 'deity' in Okinawa , however they see the crane as a 'messenger ' of the Gods . The main mythical bird of Okiinawa is the Phoenix .
Also you bought forward an interesting aspect of STUDY in martial arts . A practitioner of capoeria ( at least here in my area and the classes I have observed ) , people are not taught such things in class , but by studying the art , one might find this out and be able to apply this extra knowledge .
