First post, yippee!

Alright everyone, here's the deal: I have a particular fascination with technomancy and I've seen this idea float around on some other sites but I wanted to get opinions from people here.

How do you feel about digital altars? From Minecraft to the Sims, to even Tomodachi Life, there's a subsection of practitioners making these digital altars, sometimes with their own interpretations of their deities' appearances. Others construct whole temples ingame. Some use the particular drawing or writing features to make sigils or grimoires. But why make them? It certainly can range with reasons such as it's because they live in a harmful situation and can't have an altar out in the open or they may not have the space for one. Whatever the case, it's still a fascinating concept.

I feel two wolves about this one. Wolf #1 says we are probably living an unbalanced manner in terms of attention to the digital vs the physical. As practitioners it is probably best to correct imbalances in our conscious attention, and as moderns that probably means getting away from a screen as often as possible. So endorsing things like digital altars feels bad because practice can alternatively be such a good way of getting away from the trappings of modern life.

Wolf#2 says; Ultimately it is about tuning your consciousness to a certain state. Your digital altar either helps you achieve that goal or it doesnt. If it makes Forms appear in your mind then it is Art. An LCD screen or a painting on your wall, all images are shadows in the cave. Look at what inspires you.
