Do you believe in the moon landing?

I used to when I was brainwashed, you just take it for granted and don't really think twice about it: "hey they went to the moooooon, the US says so and it's on video, it must be real!", well many years ago I woke up luckily but I have to admit that it was an excellent pantomime, truly truly well accomplished.

Have a laugh about it:

Yes. It would be too easy for another country to prove it false and discredit the US.

Now that being said, they definitely would have faked it if necessary.

Why not ?

Personally , I myself have been to the Moon , and landed on it .

Why deny others the pleasure ?

They most definitely put junk on the moon. It's there, it supposedly can be seen from Earth.

We got rocks back, and those are real physical evidence. Others have access too I think to the rocks.

Now, the question really should be where there humans on those landers. Or were they radio controlled.

Or, maybe a 'stunt double' crew, that could be kept top secret if things went catastrophically wrong.

Maybe not fully automated, they couldn't do that back then. I am also pretty sure that after the 'robot'

landers were proven safe, humans actually did land on the moon. But they really really could not afford

failure on the first launch. I do think apollo 13 was real. I lived thru all of that, and before even, I'm as

old as Sputnik. A lot was at stake but there were real lives at risk.

Oh ya, before anyone starts picking apart my answer, know that I was an aerospace engineer who helped design GPS satellites.

Oh, I didn't answer the OP. I go with the 'stunt double' theory. If you think the landings were Hollywood, it matches how that works.

THEY could not risk the main actors, dedicated agents of the government did the actual landing. If they failed, well, the main actors are safe

and can still be trotted out to the press. Whatever the actual failure, it would just fit the narrative. How it all works.

For sure. If India and China both independently verified we left stuff up there is still up there, that's a pretty good sign.

Sadly, it takes some specialized equipment to use the laser reflector, but it's up there, too. Another thing to test against for the Soviets at the time. They got the laser to bounce off the reflector, so that ended the discussion. Telemetry and radio signals head and corroborated by the Soviets, China, etc. There's a whole lot of data that at some point gets so complicated to try and fake, it would be easier just to go to the freakin' moon and do it for real.

Besides the hundreds of thousands of civilians involved, even if you shot a rocket out into nothingness every time, why do that during the Apollo 16 and 17 era when Americans with their short attention spans stopped paying attention? Keeping up appearances alone? ICBM practice? We got the math already, didn't need more.

I don't even believe in the moon.
As a wise man once said, " How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren't Real".

@Nell what do you mean by you don't believe in the moon, are you referring to the theory that material life is a maya or what else?

It's just odd they haven't recreated their success by now.

According to videos supposedly made by old astronauts, (who can tell with AI now?) the residents of the moon (aliens) told them to not come back.

As I said, stunt doubles landed. Trained just as well as any other astronaut. Who could really tell in space suits who they were? Zero risk.

The fact that makes me realize that it was total bullshit is that if they really went there back in the 60's by now we would have at least infrastructures, buildings and above all tourism on that moon.

I am not sure it would be worth it . Its a bit like people wanting to claim Australia in the 1700s , an initial rush to be first and claim the great 'missing southern continent ' ... but when they got here it was an expensive trip here and back and not anything here worth the trip in the first place (according to those at the time ) .

With the Moon, its far too expensive a trip and set up to send convicts there .
