Do you have complete control in your dreams?

I recently tweaked my typical rituals by using symbols and specific colored candles. The first night after doing this I had a dream that was continuous with a series of events being intertwined. People from my past appeared and I was able to control my actions while being consciously aware of what I was doing.

Before this, I could never remember my dreams. If I did remember my dreams then I wouldn’t have control, such as if I was in danger I couldn’t throw a punch or push away if I really wanted to.

Has anyone else had these kind of experiences after practicing particular rituals?

It's called lucid dreaming. I think that most people experience it at least once in their life spontaneously. There are people who work on achieving this state on their own will., It definitely has good uses.

There is a lot of books on how to master Lucid dreaming, It is also included in many books on astral travelling that I've read. (of course, quality varies...)

Like Morell said it’s lucid dreaming. Most guides have some version of establishing routines that help signal to your mind when you’re asleep/dreaming.

When I’m seriously meditating a lot or do a lot of ritual work, especially if I’m doing planetary work (set hours), I lucid dream a lot. It can be quite helpful once you start doing it regularly.
