Do you roll your eyes back when meditating?

I've seen this video where the man in question claims to be meditating with his eyes rolled back. He also claims that the mindfulness meditation (the one where you simply close your eyes and concentrate on your breath) is merely useless, as it won't bring the person in any state.

Personally, I don't have much experience with meditation, but I think mindfulness helped me, at least as an introduction on how to meditate. Rolling my eyes back gives me a weird feeling, maybe I'm wrong.

Raymond Buckland writes this in his Witchcraft book. The idea is to direct your eyes to your third eye (if I remember correctly, else I'm making this up now though it sounds reasonable) Obviously you close your eyes though, and rolling back might be a bit overdoing it. Just looking up

Don't roll your eyes. People do it naturally when they roll their eyes in annoyance and that tells you what emotions it is connected with. Not something I would use for meditation. Wouldn't want to risk the damage to the nerves connected with the eye-balls...

You either roll the eyes up (third eye, divine connection, etc) or you roll them down (internal contemplation). Well, at least if you follow certain eastern traditions.

For point focus and empty mind meditation I don't roll my eyes back, but for astral projection/OOBE i've found that rolling them up a bit (so that they're focused on the third eye/middle of the forehead behind closed eyelids) helps me achieve the vibrational state that a lot of people familiar w this type of meditation talk about.

In my opinion, it's not about deliberately moving your eyes to the space between your eyebrows. What works for me is creating a sustained vibration with my tongue, held as far back as possible against the roof of my mouth, vibrating "ng" with my mouth closed. This vibration resonates in your skull, and eventually your eyes will magnetically gravitate towards the space between your eyebrows, but you shouldn't force it. The somatic vibrational sound is key.

The technique requires a little practice at first, since vibrating the "G" sound is somewhat natural to do with your mouth closed. The "NNGG" combination, as if you were saying "soNG," is the vibration that should be made with your tongue pressing against the back of your upper palate. You inhale and perform the process; this stimulates all the upper energy centers. It's an advanced qigong technique, but very useful if you practice it daily. Best regards!
