Hi!
I met a guy who started having problems with his dreams. At some point, he suddenly stopped dreaming altogether—or at least stopped remembering his dreams. His ability to visualise things also declined significantly. He also told me that he used to find it very easy to enter the astral, but for some time now, along with these other changes, it has become much more difficult for him. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hello! I’ve experienced similar when adapting to things like new medications, sleep schedules, high stress, etc.
Also is your friend just an active dreamer or is he intentionally practicing?

Yep, he’s an active dreamer. We’ve ruled out those causes you mentioned! That’s why it’s even more weird.

That is odd. Is he having any other neurocognitive decline? Like, is it harder for him to visualize things while awake and doing mundane activities?
Also does he have any sort of meditative practice?
This is so many questions, sorry lol, but there are a ton of things that could factor into why he isn’t dreaming and whether or not that’s the root of it or a symptom of a larger issue.
But if he’s just a regular guy who usually dreams a lot and doesn’t dream anymore, he could start with a dream journal!
I know that sounds sort of counter-intuitive if he’s not dreaming, but the issue is probably one of memory rather than inactivity. Strengthening dream recall immediately upon waking is really effective in my experience, and I think empirically it’s shown to work but I’m too lazy to google it.
