The book Occult Imperium contains an amusing bit of information. While the English translation of the UR group's material notes the group dissolved in a flurry of lawsuits -which is hardly encouraging the perspective of these being advanced adepts- surrounding incidents were in actuality even more ridiculous. After Evola plagiarized Reghini, Guilio Parise physically fought with Evola (who apparently got the worse of the bargain). To top it off, there was conflict over a woman. These were people writing about being superhumanly detached from ordinary human concerns and foibles.
That said, the UR material does contain some decent and challenging meditative material, that's at least better than GD or Crowleyan weak tea. They did recognize the importance of crystallizing a real I. They were missing vital pieces of the puzzle, however, including the understanding of the role of thoughtforms and other obstructing energies in the pursuit of the ultimate goal of esotericism. As far as Evola himself, he was too enslaved to a Traditionalist perspective and couldn't break free of his reliance on texts and ideas he a priori gave credence to.
