I started a batch of fire cider on Halloween. I used a pretty basic mixture:
  • 1 onion
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • handful of garlic cloves
  • Fresno peppers
  • ginger root
  • turmeric root
  • horseradish root
  • whole cloves
  • cinnamon sticks
  • ground turmeric
I sliced everything up thinly and put it in a 2q ball jar, covered with ACV and will let it steep for a few weeks, doing some prayers to Helios over it during sun hours to help with seasonal mood changes. Otherwise I drink a shot of it with raw honey when I have a cold or allergies are acting up, it really clears out the sinuses!

Anyone have a specific recipe they like to use?

Funny - I just happened to see this post when sitting down to have some tea after....just bottling a batch of Fire Cider! Totally missed it the rest of the week.

I added a lot of rose hip to mine, lime, and used a couple habanero peppers, but I love heat like that. Otherwise basically the same recipe. 3L jar packed to the top and I just got exactly 1L before honey was added.

Yum! I will definitely have to put rose hips in the next batch. Sounds like a nice addition.

I never thought of Rose hips! Will be adding to my next batch of fire cider. Also, love the addition in the first recipe of the cloves and cinnamon. I've never thought to add those to my fire cider either. I usually do a very basic fire cider. Y'all got me thinking!

You don't believe this story.
I made a Fire cider on Last December. I use the same as your ingredients. I added some extra sprigs of Rosemary But just one thing was missing..HORSERADISH ROOT. When I went to many organic / heath stores in London for fresh roots no one doesn't seems to know or care about it. In major supermarkets they have HORSERADISH SAUCE instead . I know it is not the right thing and it is loaded with lot of craps of processing stuff. I did the Fire Cider that way.
Later on I did a research on Horse Radish on Ebay. so I can buy that but that is coming from USA or India. Isn't that amazing in Uk market they do not sell it. I think it is because there isn't a demand. People eat the famous Roast -beef and it' classic accompaniment horseradish sauce . They prefer that processed supermarket sauce. For me it is something unusual.
Rosehips and Black pepper is good if that have any fresh turmeric. So my fire sider is not very good as I could not get a quality Raw organic Honey. But I am doing another one soon.
