Hey all, so I continue to be drawn to the Tesseract as a symbol or contemplative object. Specifically the B4 Coexeter graph of the tesseract. I just love the geometry of it and how it makes me feel while contemplating it. Does anyone know of any traditions or folk history beyond general pop culture that deal with the Tesseract?

I get why the tesseract keeps drawing you in — especially that B4 Coxeter graph. There s something coldly satisfying about its symmetry. There’s no real folk tradition or old folklore attached to it. It’s a 19 th century mathematical construct not something rooted in pre-modern systems.

What pulls you is the structure itself.

I don’t treat it as a symbol either. I use it as pure architecture — a four-dimensional framework where “inside” and “outside” lose their usual meaning. That s what makes it quietly effective for certain kinds of work.
If it keeps calling your attention follow it, but do it properly. Build it layer by layer in your mind not just stare at the 2D projection.
The geometry only really opens up once you construct it.

If you’d like, I can walk you through how I do it.
