Forums Are Still Around?

[Missterry]

Wow, an active forum. I thought forums were dead. I'm old skool, I've been on forums since way back in the day.

I go by Missterry. I like conlanging. Something about language and words that gets the gears in my brain turning. It's like a hobby.

I like philosophy, but I'm only familiar with Eastern philosophy, since I'm Asian. I've never studied or read anything about Western philosophy, unless one considers Nietzsche to be a philosopher.

I'm from Southern California, and so I am somewhat street oriented, meaning most of my friends are gang oriented. And so, I often write like I talk, I try to omit cuss words when I write.

I like occultism in general, both Eastern and Western occultism. I like to study Western occult societies like the OTO, Golden Dawn, and so on. And I like Oriental occultism, such as Taoist Sorcery, Asian witchcraft, etc.

I like divination. I read normal poker cards, the Grand Jeu Lenormand cards, the petit Lenormand cards, tarot. I suck at all those cards, but I'm good at reading poker cards, since in Asian culture, we use poker cards to read with, and we use the old French style of cartomancy, since most of our countries were French colonies back in the day. Every morning I give myself a three card reading to see how my day will be. I carry my cards with me at all times. Every time I have a question, I bust out my cards and ask the spirit to show me the answer.

I am culturally - born and raised - an Animist, and so, I'm more into and am more familiar with Asian occultism, Asian necromancy, Asian magic & sorcery, which you learn from people and the culture in general, and not from books.

I like to read, only non-fiction. I like to spend my time on youtube watch documentaries and history shit. I also go to youtube to listen to music.

I hope to interact with you guys in and around the forums!

You're not missing much, the only interesting western philosophy winds up just being masked occultism. Unless you consider the ancient Greeks western, Epictitus, Diogenes, Plutarch, Plato, Heraclitus, etc, they have some good platitudes. Everyone else just has an air of grasping helplessly at things outside their realm of comprehension because their leash of science & collar of rationality keep them tied down to the sanitized & sane steel floot. If Nietzsche wasn't a philosopher, than he would just be considered a dick.

Welcome to the forum! Happy to have you, I'm also a fan of Taoist Sorcery & philosophy. Perhaps you'd be willing one day to share those things you've learned orally rather than from books with us, it sounds interesting.

Oh yes, I do consider ancient Greek to be Western. Ancient Greece was the heart or foundation of modern Western civilization. At least I think so. Now that I think about it, I am familiar with a few things Plato talked about, and I have studied a few people who were around the Age of Enlightenment, like Hume and a few others. So, I am in a small way, familiar with some philosophical ruminations from the West, which I like.

I will be happy to share what little I know about Taoist Sorcery stuff. It'll gradually all come out eventually in my posts. And I will go check out the library here! Thanks.
