So this is still in beta, so please expect some bugs and weirdness. I have created an online grimoire for anyone to use. It's really lightweight and uses your browser's storage, so you don't need to sign up for anything. I would suggest using the backup options on the far right side, though. You can export it as JSON, readable HTML, full HTML, or even markdown. In these same settings, you can play around with the appearance and add your coordinates so that the planetary information is calculated correctly for you.

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

Here are some of the current features, though there are many additional things you can find by exploring:
  • You can currently create entries for different sections like spells, materia / correspondences, dreams, lore, links, journals, divination/omens, and more
  • Altar / Webshrine area that is more than for show because you can actually leave offerings. You can also fully decorate this. I tried my best to make this really fun.
  • Ability to draw sigils on the page itself and save them. You can also just import them.
  • Entries that feel real and actually make you think about what you are doing.
  • Has a practitioner / about area so you can personalise it with your own path, signs, beliefs, deities, tools, icon, etc. Once you update this, it really looks so cool.
  • It lets entries link to each other, so it can work more like a tiny personal web or wiki instead of just isolated notes
  • Has optional ritual metadata/seals for entries, but they can also be turned off if they don’t fit the page. So you can mark your journal entries automatically with the planetary stuff if you want.
  • God, there is so so much, please just go look at it.
It’s meant to be a little expressive and decorative, so some features lean more "digital shrine / personal archive / weird old web object" than "serious productivity app", so manage expectations. Only you can see what you enter, so it's completely private. Again, back up your stuff as often as you can.

I'd love feedback, but it isn't necessary. If you find it helpful, that's good enough for me.

This is cute!! :) My current grimoire setup that is a hybrid of Obsidian and a few physical notebooks works well for me, but I will play around with this, I like the idea.

This sounds really awesome to me. And not sure what I can say to improve it since it sounds quite amazing already. Also feel this is a great idea and never would have thought of it. And even if it's just in beta, I am impressed by all the features it already has.

This is sick. My only issue is the native text size is kinda small, and when you increase the zoom, it ruins the formatting of the page drastically. I know that is hard as hell to optimize though (tried my hand at webdev stuff years back, didn't have the patience/attention span for it). But it's a lovely idea, and what's here is great. Thanks for sharing!

I'll try messing around with that at some point :) What browser are you using so I can take a look?

Beautiful web. I need to upscale it to 150% to have it fill the window of browser properly, maybe you need adaptive scaling for the page?

I agree, the old blog like design in this modern take is awesome.
I use anonymous browsing, so nothing gets stored for me anyway... but quite neat project.

Thank you very much for sharing since I was searching for exactly something like that just a few weeks ago. You answered a real necessity!

Just a little suggestion: as other users already said, the zoom option could be really invaluable.

I like that you have a section for results or aftermath that allows editing when things change, or even marking a ritual as failed if needed. But after I edited my test post, all the icons disappeared when I open it up, which makes me think it’s a bug.

The design looks great on mobile, but on my desktop the font is too small. I have a large screen and I’m zooming in to 170% just to read it. Still, I absolutely love the concept and the overall beauty of the design. I wouldn’t adopt the whole saving and backup routine since I already use cloud storage for all my magickal work.

hi friend! trying to recreate the bug you've encountered, but having some trouble. when you have some time (no rush lol) can you let me know which icons are disappearing for you and if you cleared any browser data between uses?

and yeah, i think one day id like to make it a downloadable program instead of web-based but that is very far off into the future, haha. :')

@Keldan i found the bug you meant - the ritual stamp that stamps each post with the planetary times. the icons vanish when editing - how strange. thanks so much for noticing that, truly.

No problem. I’m not sure if you’re open to feedback, but here’s what I’ve been thinking. Having the “about the practitioner” section in one of the top entries (perhaps between journal and index) would be great. That way it has its own dedicated section rather than scrolling with every page, which many desktop users may not want on every single view. It could serve as a periodic reference point for internal updates without cluttering daily browsing.

Also, if you move that section out of the primary flow, splitting the left side in half would allow you to neatly arrange elements. Like the search box, entry count, tags, and the daily draw on the right side, it’ll create a more symmetrical layout as your entries grow.

I also ran into an issue when testing with a full self contained html file downloaded. I couldn’t interact with any test notes or open them to read, they were like a static screenshot. Just thought you’d want to know about that. I also noticed that the search function isn’t working for me. I haven’t had a chance to try out the linking feature yet.

Honestly, this interface is looking really nice. I don’t think it’s worth the effort of making it a fully fledged program if the self contained html already runs everything just like the website. It might be worthwhile transferring my stuff over if it can work seamlessly, you got me thinking about it. And hey, adding a couple more masculine themes would be awesome. Lol.
