Based on my personal experience, I firmly believe that no occult practice can achieve success without seed retention.
Here are several points that may prove beneficial and instructive for you:
Do not exhibit any obsessive behaviour regarding its retention; if the urge for gratification becomes overwhelming, you must absolutely discharge! Otherwise, it will exert pressure on the prostate and stimulate your nervous system, potentially causing you to experience stress or anger, ultimately leading you to abandon seed retention entirely. Let it go completely; allow it to take its natural course, and gradually increase the number of days you retain the seed. You are not expected to succeed in abstaining for a full month on your very first attempt; you might only manage to resist for a maximum of two days before the biological need overpowers you. Under such circumstances, you must not reproach yourself or perceive it as a failure; you have simply acted in accordance with your own nature.
Fasting, or adopting a raw vegan diet, is highly conducive to this practice; it multiplies the efficacy of seed retention and consecrates the seed.
Strictly avoid all stimulants, yet do so not through coercion, but of your own volition. If the sensation of carnal desires is intense within you, then the time to control it has not yet arrived. If you wish to bring it under your control, you must first comprehend it completely, feel it, nourish it, and subsequently sacrifice it! If you merely suppress it and keep it starved, it will not vanish; rather, it will relapse with greater force and intensity, ruining everything.
The sexual urge and the need for sustenance are the primary and primal necessities of living beings for survival; transcendence lies in attaining annihilation [dissolution of the ego]. These two needs are associated with your root chakra and represent the most base of desires. Absolute, permanent conquest is certainly impossible as long as you are in physical incarnation. However, if you succeed in mastering the stomach and what lies beneath it (sexual desire and the need for food)—ensuring they hold no dominion over you—you will find that, thereafter, you can effortlessly control the world around you as well. Maintaining this sovereignty will then become vastly more pleasurable for you than consuming any food or achieving carnal gratification, and you will continue this practice with enthusiasm and ease.
Another crucial point is that energy is never destroyed; it merely transforms from one state to another. Over time, you must learn the art of inner alchemy: the transmutation of iron into gold. Sperm, in and of itself, is the raw, unformed, and primordial state of energy that must be shaped. If you fail to transmute it, this energy will overflow and may manifest itself in any conceivable form. The most important, fundamental prerequisites for seed retention are twofold:
- Continuous and uninterrupted Kegel exercises.
- Daily breathing exercises, such as Bhastrika or the Shining Skull (Kapalabhati), amongst others.
Ultimately, if you succeed in retaining the seed for the duration of a complete lunar cycle, whilst consistently performing the exercises, the first seed will be transmitted to your crown chakra. Bear in mind that if, following this lunar cycle (from one new moon to the subsequent new moon) and the receipt of the first seed, you achieve sexual gratification, your account will be reset to zero, and you must commence again from the beginning! Yet, I reiterate, do not impose any pressure or compulsion upon yourself; should this occur, it is not a failure, but merely the acquisition of further experience towards ultimate success.
With each gratification of your carnal desires, you create energetic and karmic knots within the chakras. Even if you succeed in awakening the Kundalini serpent during your initial attempts, this serpent will creep towards the crown, only to encounter chakra blockages, retreat to the root, and return to slumber. Aside from this, there naturally exist two formidable knots in every individual along the serpent's path to the crown—knots with which everyone is born. However, gradually, through seed retention and the execution of the exercises, you will unravel these natural knots and the ones you have created throughout your life, one by one. Ultimately, you will pave the way for the serpent to reach the crown; the fruition of this process culminates in the blossoming of the sacred lotus flower upon your crown and an indescribable eruption of Kundalini energy.
Please note that this is a protracted process requiring patience; hastening will only lead to failure. Nonetheless, the further you progress, the easier its execution becomes, and the greater the mastery you shall attain.
This constitutes the foundational and preliminary practice for this endeavour. More specialised methods exist, reserved exclusively for those who have performed these exercises continuously for years.
I wish you success.
