i used to have an aunt that lived in ghana and was an eye doctor there. every coupe of years she would come over and visit family. she always came alone. it made me wonder if she had family she didnt want to bring over or was she really that dedicated to her work that she never married. all i know back in the days things were different and we kept silent about a lot of stuff.

she always brought gifts. little metal statues that looked a bit strange, a sort of wooden chair and other stuff i cant remember. after the invention of the internet i found pictures of them online, but i also got a job where a bunch of ghanese worked. it made me wonder if my by then death aunt was giving me some insights in their culture. and she did.

every time i go shopping my eye falls on a pack of fufu and i wonder what da fuck do i need that for. none of my peeps is gonna like that for food. not that i mind the intermingling, nor do they. its just as the dutch say: what the farmer doesnt know he doesnt eat. and then i remembered i have a ghanese- french moslem friend somewhere and were gonna make fufu.

so we need a baseball bat and a sturdy bowl so we can beat that fufu in to a tasty meal. ive seen vids where two people are needed to make it. it seems women back in the days were better at it. i remember a little statue of a woman carrying a child on her back while making fufu. online ive seen people make it, but never alone. wyrd shit...
