I’ve been thinking about the way society and many spiritual systems present gender as a kind of internal polarity, two currents that most traditions treat as opposites or two archetypes, Masculine / Feminine. So many spiritual and philosophical orders across the ages have restricted themselves to this framework reaching the precipice of duality only to stop at this duo point of view, as if two modes were the limits of human experience, But in lived experience, those binaries never hold. They mingle, bleed, transmute. They behave more like volatile elements than fixed truths.

That’s where I’ve come to realize the flaw, These fundamentals work nicely on paper, but they collapse the moment you look at real people, Real movement, Real inner warfare. They describe almost nothing of what actually happens. My own path hasn’t been about choosing between poles or balancing them. It’s been alchemical, heating, dissolving, recombining, letting inherited structures fall apart so something self-made can take shape. For some, the mixture settles into something familiar. For others it shifts across time. But for me, it’s become a substance that no longer resembles the original inputs at all. not halfway between, not a blend, but a coherence formed through transformation. Not “either/or.” Not “both.” Just the evolving alloy I continue to refine.

Here is the thing. What we have between our legs, along with secondary signs is one thing. What is in our heads is completely another one. but this later one is invisible to the world, while first is obviously visible. So the world uses mainly the physical, what people can see and that is also what we use in our language.

While what is in our heads, can be confusing, contradicting, etc. etc.

In the society it is usually easier to go with the flow, as long as there is not much trouble with adapting to that. But when it comes to self exploring the head, the biological vocabulary can very fast become insufficient.

Principle of Polarity in Kybalion explains this quite nicely.

I got rather convinced that polarity and gender are not really the same thing... Especially if we consider gender as in Hermetic laws, that everything in nature has two genders which was found not to be true...

You are looking at the principle of polarity just from the point of opposites. True, cold, and hot exist, but so does lukewarm. A coin has two sides, but both are connected to the same coin, just like black and white also have a plethora of gray in between.

In my long term magical studies I have always seen this 'blend' present . I find it surprising that someone that studied even a little bit of magic never came across the androgyny principle . The principles of balancing the psyche . The principle of Mercury being the regulator of the Mars / Venus polarity in the psyche and the anima and animus in psychology etc etc .

I feel that. Having the pleasure of major steps of transition, 2 is only a mirror, a form for a Monad to see it's Self. Reflections do in context of You, it is the only reference point, and no such thing exists in such a vacuum. To distill is to remove one thing from another, it no longer being what it was and "thus" not equal to it; if you remove a skeleton from a fish, wording intended, you are left with organized calcium and phosphate, not a fish.
To see something is to do so as the Whole, in the context of the Whole. We may look through "2" in a reductionist's view, as a lens but that simply is a view port into that vast N-complexity'd experience that is even just our collective's "physicalized" perception of the Universe.
