Yay first post time!
Genesis 1 (study bible): "In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth- and the earth was without form or shape, with the darkness over the abyss and a mighty wind sweeping over the waters."
The Jewish worldview was that we were basically in a "bubble" (dome) surrounded by water on all sides which water poured through when it rained lol.
The winds are (ruach) also in Qabbalah and bible, But what are these forces in Genesis understood? Water, Wind exist before creation. A primoradial soup which then balances between light and day darkness, are later created and exist in balance. I think this is clearly rooted in polytheistic tradition.
It appears that darkness predates light which makes sense, as a primordial soup but they remain in balance, the light and the dark. Created and creator are one essentially. All light comes from a point called the singularity: concentrated energy. People often times talk about God's light, or God as a solar entity/God and even sometimes the pathetic idea there is a bearded sky daddy. I know that there are planetary associations but I will get to that at some point. I don't emphasize that there are elemental associates either in this thread. But the stars are only the children surrounded by the firmament, Stars if anything illuminate the firmament. I do also subscribe to the Crowleyan view that every man and woman is a star. When I look up the stars, I see people surrounded by the the firmament. which is the concept of Aether. Aether was an idea that worked out mathematically but is dated before special relativity.
"God made two great lights, the day, and the lesser separate to to govern the night of the sky"
Two lights = two Gods
"Then God said: let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures"
Enough said. I am familiar with the concept of Tehom as the primordial waters- and with connections to Hubur/Tiamat.,
Set is the Tetragrammatom to me, as he is foreign darkness yet being a solar deity. Duality.
The solar aspects are basically that he defended the world against Apophis alongside with Ra.
There is also no true sigils to him, because he is the supreme being in action. Set himself initiated me into the LHP
The origin of stars according to science.
The second view of God is anthropomorphic. It is plural quite simply. It states "then the Lord God said, 'behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. And now lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of the life and eat, and live forever"
The story of Noah and the great flood is an idea found in many Mesopotamian traditions like the epic of Gilgamesh
Is Asherah the consort of YHVH? I want other people's input. She is associated with the Red Sea. Has anyone had contact with this entity?
I also should mention that wind and water are the elements of balance- I dont know how to edit a post after a preview! Can someone guide me?
