I came across a video of a woman who said she did Psalm magic for abundance and got results which led me down the rabbit hole of Psalm magic. And so here I am.
I feel like I've always been drawn to magic though. I remember a story my mom said about how my grandfather always had this intuitive sense about people just by looking at them. I also remember visiting his home in the mountains and finding a booklet about the different moon phases which I knew he used for farming but I thought was pretty magical just the same. My father grew up in the mountains but ended up being a city guy and I feel like he somehow "suppressed" whatever magical knowledge and practices he knew except for one: scattering salt in an area in our home that felt "heavy".
Eventually, I forgot about magic entirely until I came across the works of GOM. I bought 23 / 25 books they have. Honestly, I feel like I was addicted to the information more than anything. I even made this table listing down all the 72 angels and their corresponding powers. I know it was meant to simplify magick still I don't know why I felt like something was "missing" from the information I was getting. I can't really remember a super significant result from the magick I did using their books so eventually gave it up.
Fast forward to last night, after I saw that video, I remembered The Magickal Angels book and how it used Psalms except only snippets. I found copies of Jacobus Swart's books and felt drawn to this method of Psalm magic because it feels even simpler but I'm feeling somehow still powerful because it's like you're using this verbal - spiritual technology directly. No need for sigils and such, simply using the power of your voice / your intention. I live in a household of "non-magical" people so doing something that looks like reading a book / Bible and praying feels more doable.
To be transparent, I learned about this forum in search of Kent's book but I understand you have to be an established member to access it. So will work with Swart's book in the meantime.
I've been reading some of the posts here about Psalm magic but keeping myself in check lest I get too engrossed in learning > overcomplicating instead of actually doing the magic in a way that feels good for me.
Looking forward to learn more from magick makers who have been doing this for a long time.
