I've been exploring different approaches to working with the Goetia, and I'm curious about other people's experiences with it.
The traditional method of evocation, using a triangle, circle, seals, and incense, has been around for centuries and has a long history of reported results. At the same time, pathworking has become increasingly popular as a more accessible way to make contact with spirits, relying more on visualization and astral work than on a physical ritual setup.
For those who have worked with both methods, do you feel that spirits respond differently depending on the approach? Has one method been more reliable or consistent for you than the other?
I'm also curious about the nature of the connection itself. Does the lack of a physical ritual in pathworking make the contact feel less intense or less binding in any way? Or does the method not really matter as long as the intent is there?
Have any of you noticed that certain demons seem to respond better to one approach than the other? Or do you think the method itself is mostly irrelevant as long as the practitioner is focused and clear about their intent?
I'm not looking to start a debate about which method is "real magick." I think both approaches have their place. I'm mainly interested in hearing practical experiences from people who have actually worked with both.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
