Did pirates ever employ magick and rituals to aid them in plundering the seas? If so, what kind and how do you presume they utilized it?
In my personal opinion, Capt. Low or his crew must've dabbled in some black magicks as was part of their gruesome rituals and torture. Keeping prisoners in his own ship for various esoteric blood sacrifices, it would explain his barbaric nature. It would also make sense that he tried to keep his condition at bay with some form of witchcraft, because I refuse to believe he would be able to plunder for as long as he did evading military ships and his degrading physical health.
