When I was first starting out, I found the color scales greatly helpful in developing the associations of the correspondence system. The arrangements of the scales have also influenced my artwork, though I have deviated and simplified over the years. There are also influences of other traditions that crept in, but as a general rule, I follow the basic GD format of color - though the variance from Sephirothic to say, planetary paths gets a bit too complicated to bother with. I include the four worlds in that, but I can see some utility there at times.
In terms of pathworking in a visionary sense, I guess I could say they helped cultivate an emotional flavor for each particular path. However, I came to reject them (and the correspondences) as an a priori necessity for the "validation" of an inner plane experience. That is to say, as the techniques seemed to be presented to me as dogmatic due to the language around the teachings, though the associations are not without merit. I see the colors as projected, not essential to the hypostases, though this is in some way kind of mechanical necessity for "reversion" and ritual in the Neoplatonic sense. I could frame that in terms of making use of color a "vessel" to be filled via type of harmonizing the phenomenal perception with the grasping towards the noumenal.
