Got a "no" from my spirit team regarding tonight's spell

Tonight I was going to do an emergency anti-gossip spell before grad school starts in like a few weeks, and it is waning moon Tuesday today which is the best day for active protective spell. I wanted to set up defenses to protect my reputation and prevent people from turning on me or getting obsessed with me, which was common in my life (at the workplace at least) which also a witch pointed out when she read my birth chart due to Jupiter and Venus retrograde in my birth chart.

I already planned the spell, melted down the black candle into shape, went to the store to buy the ingredients, mixed the ingredients, and got everything ready. I realized I forgot to do divination before preparing everything, so I asked with 4 coins if I should do it tonight, it was 75% no. Then I asked if I should do it next Tuesday when it's waxing moon, or just don't do it at all. It said 75% don't do it at all. I asked if I should do another spell to prepare for grad school, and it was 50:50. I asked if it's just the timing or not the best weekday, so if I should do this spell this Saturday during waxing moon, and again 75% no. Sigh. I can't unmix the ingredients, and they're the expensive rare stuff like syrian rue and dragons blood.

3 days ago I did an irreversible poppet spell banishing magic, and then I have a money spell I planned weeks ago (that the spirit team said 100% yes to) in a few days. I wonder if that's why.

I am not good with tarots yet so I have no idea what my spirit team is trying to say to me but all I know is it's a "no". Bummer. Now I am just burning the resin and seeds as incense tonight, nothing more.

If you subtract a coin you can go with consulting the I Ching. It can be very helpful.

Maybe the outcome isnt what they were most concerned with. Maybe there was a lesson you didn't see while you were doing all that prep for it. Not everything is magick, even though everything is magick.

Way I see it, you spun a U-ey while cruising. The very intent to do magick sets it in motion. Thinking about the spell, gathering the ingredients, planning its execution...none of that is separate from the actual releasing of it, so if you do a reading mid-course it is going to faithfully reflect the momentum of "oops, I shoulda asked first." The spirits you are working with, if any, are way ahead of you anyway. Sitting around your kitchen table drumming their fingers, playing euchre, wanting to prank you. Waiting for you to get with the program. Besides, magick is not bound by linear time. Shit happens backwards, forwards and sideways. Spells blend together and mutate, flow like water, following tidal rivers of power. This whole thing about cast a spell...wait three days, see if it works. Rinse, repeat...bunch of nonsense. Magick isn't engineering. It isn't project management.

My advice, look deeply. The ambiguity inherent to the divination is a gold-mine of information. So also your mind-set during the reading. Also, take advantage of your retrograde planets cause your Venus retrograde, for one, is not a liability. Inward turning is only a problem for those who want everything simple. Mechanistic. Without complications. That is not where the power is. It is in the organic complexity of a current you yourself are inseperable from. If you crafted a spell properly you won't be able to follow the permutations of its unfolding with your mind anyway. At this point though...I would not follow through with the spell either. I might, however, use the ingredients to craft an UNBINDING spell. A self-consecration, if you will, so as to free yourself from such influences as snivel in the dust with slander. In other words, never cast protection spells out of anxiety. That is containment magick (self-execration) and will collapse under it's own weight, that weight being you. If you are going to cast a protection spell then do it as an affirmation of your own sovereignty.
