Greetings colleagues and comrades
I'm excited to join this community and connect with fellow practitioners. I'm a scholar, educator, and writer currently based in Detroit, and I'm actively looking to connect with local magick communities in the area. If anyone knows of groups, meetups, or practitioners in the Detroit/Metro area, I'd be grateful for any recommendations.
My spiritual journey has been wonderfully winding and eclectic. I was baptized Catholic, spent time with the Hare Krishnas, and eventually arrived at what I'd describe as an agnostic-atheistic panentheism—or perhaps we're all just living in an elaborate simulation. Who's to say, really?
What brings me here now is a renewed commitment to magick practice, specifically sigil work. I'm approaching it more seriously and intentionally than I have in the past. My interests trace back to my college days when I was deep into Crowley's work, The Book of Lies (that wonderful compendium featuring Grant Morrison and others), along with yoga and meditation practices. Those foundations have stayed with me, and now I'm ready to dive back in with fresh eyes and dedication.
I'm grateful to be here and look forward to learning from all of you, sharing experiences, and building genuine connections within this community.
If you're interested in my other writing, I also maintain a Substack where I explore various philosophical and esoteric topics:
Looking forward to the conversations ahead!
