As part of the Magic Letters from Gregor A. Gregorius and the Fraternitas Saturni, Magia Metachemica deals with the practical side of Hermetic Alchemy and Spagyrics.

Beginning with the Tabula Smaragdina, Gregorius discusses the basic principles of Hermetic Alchemy and follows them with practical observations and laboratory experiments. This letter gives an extensive account of alchemical laboratory practice, including the preparation of alcohol, various mineral, vegetal and animal Quintessences, the Alkahest, Aurum Potabile, the preparation of the Great Elixir and the Philosopher´s Stone.
