The printed Grimorium Verum the “True Grimoire” in the 18th-century French edition attributed to Plaingière. It arranges practical magic under the three chiefs Lucifer, Beelzebuth and Astaroth, and the eighteen spirits placed under Duke Syrach Clauneck, Musisin, Bechard, Frimost, Surgat and the rest with their seals and characters, the Clavicles, the pacts and the operations.
The book famously bears the false imprint “Alibeck the Egyptian, Memphis, 1587”. As A. E. Waite put it: “the date specified in the title is undeniably fraudulent; the work belongs to the middle of the eighteenth century, and Memphis is Rome.” This is that specific printed recension not every variant of the Verum, and no copyrighted modern edition.
Public-domain scan (Google Books), transcribed from scratch from the facsimile and translated to English and Spanish, with the French original kept alongside and three-layer honesty (documented · [reconstructed] · later additions). Our transcription and translation are released under CC-BY 4.0.
Each of the eighteen spirits of Syrach also has its own page on the site, with its real sigil (from the De Secretis manuscripts / L’Art Magique) and its office. And if you work the other current, the 72 of the Ars Goetia are there too a different textual family, not the same list.
