The gummies you're talking about are listed online from multiple suppliers as Delta-8 THC, even though the bag only states 0.3% D9 THC. Those are the only purple-bag, Jelly brand gummies I can find labeled as a 4-pack with 125mg per gummy(Live Resin KO Blend Mixed Fruit). Delta-8 THC is a synthetic cannabanoid which is similar Delta-9 THC but is supposed to be milder.
I have never tried any D8 product, but THC will most likely have an adverse reaction for people's anxiety if they are new users or if the dose is too high relative to their tolerance. Anxiety and paranoia are very common side effects. Low doses of THC, around 0.5mg-3mg I'd say, will likely have anxiety reducing effects.
It's hard to say exactly how D8's potency compares to D9, but 50-70% is the estimate commonly repeated. If that's the case, and these were D8 gummies, you would have likely taken an extremely high dose for an inexperienced user. But if they were just full spectrum natural hemp at 125mg with 0.3% D9, your dose would have been close to 1mg THC for the 3 gummies, which should have produced a very mild effect, practically imperceptible. So the former sounds more likely.
Many brands do make CBD and full spectrum gummies which contain trace amounts of THC, and in those cases it's the same as typical CBD gummies, and there should be zero psychoactive effect.
