I am currently working with it! So far, it's been a great experience. I love the hymns and Jack is very knowledgeable about Hekate and Greek mythology. It definitely shows in the book and you can tell that it was a labor of love. It's split into several sections and I am on the second. I've learned a lot about Hekate and I feel much closer to her while reading and working with this book.

Nice :)
I would like to work with her but she seems to be an all or nothing goddess.

I've heard other people say that, but she seems to have weathered my own wishy washy nature pretty well. I say give it a go, even if it's only for a short while. You can still get something out of the experience even if it's temporary :)

Cool to know that she'll tolerate that :D
Might give her a modest offering in respect.

i see that Jack Grayle has also a couple of courses on Hekate, 'Hail Hekate' via the online Blackthorne school at $400.
interesting how popular Hekate seems to be today despite the almost complete lack of any original material from ancient Greece - Hekate is mentioned very sparsely only a few lines here and there.
It also seems to be the case that her image is being reinvented as the demonic goddess of witches and black magic when i do not see much evidence of that from antiquity.
we all know the story of persephone, but what more is there actually? A couple of lines linking her to Circe?
i guess now that egregore has been created, it should be possibe to tap into and get results, but it begs the question how powerful is a source when it's not actually plugged into the deep past?
it would be interesting to connect with any modern Hekate practioners. I will be in Athens in a couple of months and would be very interested in talking to anyone from Greece that has an actual Hekate practice with some genuine connection to antiquity.

Good morning,
I have always felt a deep connection with Hecate. Today I am beginning the Grayle practice, which starts eight days before the New Moon — that is, today. I will share my experience along the way; perhaps it may be useful to someone.

There's a lot from the PGM. Also, the book Hekate: Liminal Rites by Rankine and d'Este is a good overview of the historical info about her and is available in the library.

Ironically, despite her being more of a marginal goddess in antiquity, it's easier to find written records of her practices, epithets, etc than it is about Ares (at least when I looked).

- the author is a Greek witch (who lives in Greece) and helped Grayle with some of the Hekataeon translations in a later edition.

I’d be very happy to share my experience. I’ve noticed that only a few people have followed this text, which in my view is actually very relevant. The practice of the first day went well: an intense night, with sensations of heaviness. But it’s well known that with every approach and every new path, the ground must first be prepared—and preparation always requires a bit of “struggle.”

I'm not judging anyone in this thread. At all. That said, does anyone really need any of these specialized books on Hecate in order to properly venerate her and set up a relationship with her where one's sorcery can flourish?

I'm curious as to what these particular authors can offer compared to, say, just utilizing the PGM as one's main source of introductory practice/gnosis.

Well, it can be handy to have somebody with scholastic chops and writing skills actually pull out the Hekate-relevant materials from the PGM, edit them into a more user-friendly form, and organize them into an actual curriculum, as opposed to having to re-invent not only the wheel, but the entire concept of trade routes, an exchange economy, and wagons from first principles every time you wanna go to the corner store for a pack of cigarettes. Jack's work is well worth checking out, for those of us working with Herself.
For folks who've not yet grabbed a physical copy, he's putting out a new edition (think this'll be like the fifth or sixth one, at this point?) that he's calling a "field edition", supposed to be smaller and sturdier, for folks to carry with them instead of putting it on the shelf to admire.
And there's a pdf copy in the shared books section, but it's kinda janky; double-page layout, and no bookmarks. I keep meaning to edit it into a more user-friendly form, and re-upping it, but, y'know, plans and all that.

I’m sharing my journal entry. I completed the first part exactly as instructed, beginning eight days before the New Moon, and today I’m here to tell you about my experiences.

The first few days passed rather quietly, with nothing in particular to report except for some chills that gradually intensified during the practice after a few days.

Over the last two days, however, I’ve noticed an increase in dreams—very intense ones, and quite dark in their meaning.

Internally, I can definitely feel the beginning of a subtle transformation, or at least a growing sense of closeness to Hecate.

But this is only the beginning. The second part will start seven days before the next New Moon. We’ll see what unfolds in the meantime.

I’m enjoying the process—I find it truly interesting.
