I am a magician from China. I have studied Western mysticism for six years, mainly focusing on folklore and witchcraft, as well as chaos magic, grimoires, and regional herbalism. Of course, what interests me most is the traditional herbalism of different places.
My university major and my current work are in traditional Chinese medicine (herbal medicine), and I was apprenticed to several different folk ritual traditions民间法教 (I’m not sure how to translate this into English — it’s a type of folk magical-religious practice different from official Taoism but similar to it, centered on spells, liturgies, and serving rural people; there are dozens to hundreds of such groups，and most of them are legal, recognized as folk culture).
Sometimes I enjoy comparing Eastern and Western folklore and folk differences — would anyone be interested in this?
