Im from Norway, 40 years old. I have always been drawn to the mysterious sides of being. Since i was a child i have experienced different things like lucid dreams, out of body/astral travels, Seeing ghosts and spirits. Getting signs and warnings. Knowing things i should not know. I have a strong connection with animals, nature and the universe itself. I have had a lot of experiences im trying to figure out, and get to know who «i am» and what path to go…

God kveld Leah,

I hope your time here helps to bring you some clarity around the answers you seek.

English here but my grandmother hailed from Tromsø (one grandmother from Tromsø, one from Tyrol - mountain DNA all the way down!). Although I started my journey in the Left Hand Path (and mostly write about this on the forum), I discovered sometime ago that the principles behind that path were accepted in a (arguably) more balanced way by our pagan ancestors. You may find there (especially in seidhr) a context for the kinds of psychic experiences that you've had.

Glad to have you with us.

God kveld,
Nice to hear you have Norwegian roots, samisk?
I should be embarrassed now, because i have not studyed my ancestors. Do you have any book recommandations?
I have just been doing some ancestor research, and came all the way back to Viking kings and queens… and one woman it said was a Seidhr. Thank you💡
Im new in the terms of left and right hand magick, but im looking forward to read about it in this forum. ✨

No, not Sami. I am intrigued by Sami culture though.

Book recommendations? Good question. A friend recently recommended Edred Thorsson's Witchdom of the True as a particularly useful book for women in magic. It links the roots of modern witchcraft with seidhr and Norse magic. Katie Gerrard's Seidr is also generally well-regarded and it deals with similar themes. Dean Kirkland's Seiðr Magic is more academic and moves away from witchcraft and towards a kind of shamanism, using texts from the Viking period.
