Hello! My name is Sundance (she/her). I'm fairly new to occult practice, but I have studied it for some time. I had a passing interest as a teenager that blossomed when I studied English, Anthropology, and Religion during undergrad. I took a very academic approach to occult practice, learning everything I could about the Western Esoteric tradition as well as other cultural practices of mysticism and the occult. I know more about Mongolian shamanistic tradition and Chinese oracle bones than I'll ever have use for 😅. I was very lucky and got to do a lot of traveling in and immediately after college, which gave me a lot of firsthand experiences that blew me out of my comfortable, academic detachment from magic. So, for the past five-ish years I've been continuing to study the occult and slowly opening myself up to practicing it; I feel especially drawn to divination, portent, dreams, augury, and the like because of some personal experiences in my life that just make infinitely more sense through that lens.

I currently have a very "it isn't real but also it is" approach to magic; it's confusing and often contradictory, but it works for me. Whatever skepticism I have is kept firmly in my own mind, and I am very open to the experiences, opinions, and understandings of those who are stronger believers than myself. I'm hoping to learn more about the practical aspects of occult practice here, since it seems to be a robust and kind community of like-minded people 😊. I'm also soon to start my graduate studies to become a librarian, and I'm really interested in historical occult archives and the like, so I'm excited to dive into WF's library and get my hands dirty.

That's... pretty much all of my shtuff. I guess I'll see you all around!
