I just received a welcome email that suggested I say hello here. It was a good idea so here I am.
I am not a very good magickian when it comes to manifestation. But, internally (pyscholically, emotionally, etc.) magick has changed everything. And. for the better.
So now that I get the inside working a lot better I would like to begin trying to make my outside life better. You know, the usual stuff, more cash, easier job, etc. etc.

Honestly, I wish I could find a group here in Portland Oregon I could learn/operate with. The Rosicrucians are here, so that is a possibility. The OTO Sekh-Maat is here too but they seem to only do stuff online, their website says they used to have classes in person but I guess they do not do that anymore. There is also a Gnostic church, that may or may not be aligned with what I am trying to do. I don't know.

Anyway, I guess I am now wanting to make an influence on the outside world to create a more comfortable life. I am pretty sure magick is the best way to do that.

Sorry, that rambled a bit. Although, I guess now you can tell I am not really sure what I want or how to achieve it.

Welcome to the forum.
I would stay away from O.T.O because they don't do much magick.
They are more like social club.
When I contacted them many years ago they ask me, if I know any girls I could recrute to the order lol.
And you're entitled only to the three first grades and the later are available through invitation only.
So if you're pretty girl then probably you will get invitation to higher grades and their "sex magic" practices.

If ceremonial magick I would contact Poke Runyon. They run their CHS/OTA and GD organistations.
Unfortunately I'm not USA based so I'm on my own.

Welcome! Can you elaborate if you’re comfortable what practices or basic tradition you used for this? My current goal is this and I wanted to see if there was a different perspective.

That might help you find your interests and goals in Magick. I'd recommend Thomas Lyam Christopher's book Kabalah Magic and the Great Work of Self-Transformation; or the timeless classics like Donald M Kraigs book Modern Magick and Crowleys Book4 or Magic in Theory and Practice. We also have a recommended reading list.

I've been doing mostly planetary magick. And with very little success (on the external stuff at least). I wonder if it may be because kabbalah is Jewish. I am baptized a Christian but my faith is weak and I see God as sort of disconnected from what is happening on Earth, maybe the angels can tell that and avoid me. Or maybe I am just not able to see them but, also, they don't honor my requests/petitions. Although, even if I could not see them I would still give them credit if they answered petitions.

I think it may be that I just don't know how to contact spirits. I do the Cabbalistic Cross, the LRP (invoking), then do the Middle Pillar and I also do the lightning strike going down (I invoke all the archangels of each Sephirot), then I will pray, then do a final Cabbalistic Cross. I do that pretty much every week day, and my internal life has gotten better, a lot better, but I still can't get these angels to interact with me. Or help with a material need.

I don't know what is going on. I have Jason Miller's book on Conjuring Spirits and I have his talk on Arcane Audio about it. So maybe I just have to work at it harder. And maybe I am simply not giving them credit for synchronicities I am rationalizing away.

Just a few minutes ago, on Jupiter of Jupiter, I tried to use an Arbatel conjuration to get Bethor to assist me and nothing. Nada. or I am just dense and miss it all, Also I was told he came quick so I repeated the prayer a couple of times, chanted his name for 5 or 6 repetitions, and finally read the Orphic Hymn to Jupiter for him 4 times, but nothing, so I stopped and did a dismissal (just in case) after about 25 minutes or so.

Try a low magic approach maybe? Get a copy of a book that has the table/square, seal of the planets and the archangel, such as Table or Square of Jupiter and Tzadkiels seal. Burn a blue candle with cedar or frankincense incense, blue candle on top of Jupiter Square and the seal propped up. Invoke Jupiter/Tzedek and Tzadkiel. Say aloud your petition, have a fire safe bowl such as a metallic singing bowl ready, write it down, then tear or burn it, placing it in the fire bowl.

OK, I did use a blue candle and I burnt Cinnamon incense and then followed with a Frankincense/Myrrh. I used a Bethor sigil.

But it sounds like maybe your thinking I should stick within a tradition I sort of "belong to". An Abrahamic tradition, since I already use it. Anyway, I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
Hey, does it matter if I am trying to make contact on a waning moon. The next Jupiter of Jupiter day/hour is likely to be in a Waning moon.
If the angel does show up, I will need to say I "called" for a reason. Jupiter can also be about spiritual growth and good governance so I can ask for him to help me break down some of my barriers based on my ideas of God being lazy and disconnected from the Earthly problems we face.
Or do you think it is alright to contact him, just to contact him.

I also used colored lighting. I have two of those cheapo Amazon.com lights that change color and pulse with music. But they can be set to stay on one color, so I put one on purple and one on blue and bathed the room in a soft blue/purple color, but still no luck.

Anyway, I will try Sachiel and see what happens.

Is that enough? If I invoke starting big. I always do "Father, Son, Holy Spirit" then for Jupiter I would begin with El, then AA Sachiel, then maybe Iophiel, and Hismael, and if it was a talisman I would probably invoke the Chasmalim into it to.

Basically I try to get to resonance (a Jason Miller term) which for me means I can sort of feel them at the etheric level. So you can feel them in the air around you but I don't see anything. I have only been able to do this one time each with Raziel and Mary. So I suck at it.
Anyway, I don't need spirits to sit up and beg and roll over like dogs. I just want to know that they are there.
But if you are telling me that just going through the invocations from God to archangel to spirit or intelligence will get their full attention than I don't really need "resonance".
Or maybe I can just invoke, do the spell/ritual, then just sit with them for awhile and hope that will help me learn to feel them.

Anyway, about the spell. Is just invoking them good enough to get their attention so they know what I want, then they help or not based on how they feel about the request and what I offerred in return for their help.
