Hello I have a friend and she has been seeing a tall shadow figure with a round shaped head and a cloak shaped body in her room at night for as long as she can remember. This figurine does not move or do anything when she looks at it but stand there in a corner usually. The figure will change places sometimes but only does it when she looks away. The figure only appears in bedrooms, no other types of rooms. The figure started appearing less when she turned 12 years old after she had moved from China to the US. The figure would previously appear every night but appeared on and off from then on. She didnt experience a lot of fear from it so id doubt it was any type of angel. The entity only appears in the dark.

i love the part where "not scary => not an angel"...

anyway, in paraormal circles this sort of entity is called a shadow person, or a hat man if it wears a hat (they seem to often do)... it's a relatively common experience, but i haven't had any engagement with them that would indicate any "solution" as to the how, what or why of them... as an educated guess they seem to belong to the "spirit world" or "the daimonic" as we have come to call this realm, the place shamanic practicioners and sorcerers work with...

Spiritual entities generally spin their perceivable qualities out of currents and images borrowed from the unconscious mind of whomever they appear to. Unless we're speaking about symbols deeply rooted in culture (and it doesn't appear to be the case) it's impossible to tell exactly what the thing is from the appearence alone. The shape itself, as mentioned, is not uncommon but I don't know of any consistent meanings it would carry.

I'd find a way to converse with the entity itself. Jungian methods are in my experience the most reliable, at least given certain degree of perspective and intellectual honesty.

By the way, does anyone know what the hell is the deal with Kelpler and those reactions? I'm flattered by the desperate demand my attention finds in his eyes, but expressed in this manner it betrays certain poverty of thought.
