Are there any books which catalogue thins kind of thing with some details on preferred offerings and risks etc. I have no specific culture or belief system in mind do I am open to pretty much anything.

Every religion usually has lists of their gods as well as lists of do/don't do.

My advice would be to decide what sphere of influence you want to work on in your life (strength, wisdom, resilience and so on) and then research which gods are connected with that. Then you can see which ones appeal to you the most.

That's a pretty vague, if not to say lazy question. Have you done any research yet? You could go to Wikipedia and go through all the moon gods (yes, there are gods as well!) and goddesses, for example, and choose one that tickles your fancy. I hope you don't expect every active member to introduce their favourite supernatural being so that your entire thread will soon resemble some sort of entity menu. Ok, I'll start: orixas, just read a book about them. Likey? No? Ok, who's next?

Seriously, members are usually drawn instinctively to a specific pantheon and work out everything connected with it by themselves. Btw strictly speaking, the whole thread should be in Book Discussion and Reviews with a Seeking Recommendation tag.

The most effective way is by using a cantrip -embedded with the name of the god (imaginary spirit(s).

I authored a cantrip that has 2 imaginary spirits, a nationality, and a city.

I don't know of any books, but if you can meditate, you can journey to Source and ask which deity has the highest resonance with you, and/or which one has the most positive view of you, and/or who wants to work with you the most. You could also write a "letter to the universe", asking the same things, charge it with some energy, and burn it.

I don't know why you want to find someone to give your power away to in worship, but those are ways to meet entities who want to meet you. You can also negotiate a more equitable relationship of teaching, mentorship, and assistance, which i would suggest over worship.

Thank you for the recommendations. I do agree with that last part, I was using worship more so as an umbrella term to keep the title short.
