Hi,

I'm new to western occult/esoteric practices (especially western LHP's) and am on this forum to learn more. Been learning about eastern religions/traditions for the past 14-15 years so am not new to spirituality/occult stuff. My main goal is to escape the cycle of reincarnation/birth and death by means of Right Hand Paths (LHP's are too risky and even considered evil, from my limited understanding). If anyone knows whether there is such a thing as immortality without becoming enlightened, please let me know. The reason is that in eastern religions - Hinduism and Buddhism in particular, one must attain so called enlightenment to not reincarnate anymore. If there is such a thing as becoming immortal without becoming enlightened, to me, this would be sort of a stepping stone, and would be an easier attainment than full-on enlightenment. Looking forward to learning from more advanced practitioners on this site. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You may want to ask in the RHP section, but your question seems to contradict itself a bit. Samsara is a form of "immortality" forcing rebirth over and over. Escaping Samsara is the result of enlightenment. You are in Samara without enlightenment, and also immortal because of your Buddha nature, regardless of rebirth, anyway.

It's like asking how you start off a trip to the exact spot where you're standing.
