Welcome to you as well then!!! Hmmm… it’s quite difficult to pinpoint my practice 😂 I guess foremost I would consider myself an eclectic (ancient) Egyptian practitioner, I’ve been dabbling into the LHP lately - I should say I’m heading into it face first. I periodically mix in a lot of hoodoo/voodoo/native Indian/hispanic aspects as that’s my background but I also mix in pure occult stuff too along with other stuff.. I’m currently also researching the 21 praises of Tara for a project I’m working on.. and what about yourself?

kinda the same for me I would also say im very eclectic and I go through like different phases sometimes. Recently ive been very interested in ancient egypt too specificially Isis and the parts of egyptian religion where it collides with the canaanite pantheon. Overall im very interested in numerology and like the mystical/magical significance of letters and tracing their roots through different writing systems. (my theory is that all writing originally came from some type of sigil work) Connected to that i've been studying some hieroglyphics recently and before that the hebrew alphabet. Also used to be very into kaballah for a while. It's hard to place myself in any concrete practice too tho. just recently ive also started dabbling in some more classic lhp stuff and done my first demonolatry ritual, but havent found much success there yet. I've had fun drawing the sigils tho atleast lol. Other than that I'm also into geomancy and came up with like my own divination system based on it (so far it seems promising like good results but its not very useful cz it only works with words with 4 letters or technically 4/8/16 but not as well) Also are you into Santeria or something similar by any chance? I'm not involved in it but ive been reading about it and find it pretty fascinating. I really like the merging of catholic saints with their native gods idk it's kinda my vibe although I dont have any background in that

Wow, I can relate to this so much lol!!! I do use the hieroglyphs as sigils, I prefer them over sigils because I work with the Egyptian pantheon anyway, so if you wrote the name or word using hieroglyphs, boom you have a sigil!! Linguistics plays a HUGE role in magic and a lot of people glean over it, so I’m glad you’ve picked up on it and do incorporate that in your studies, Hebrew is a very old language and is believed to be one of the first main languages of the world, at the least a descendant of it!

I’m not a fan of Catholicism which is probably a reason why I am more into Egyptian traditions LOL so the synchronization that I use isn’t necessarily entirely saints it’s more the original energy/entity, i.e., mother Mary aspects tend to be associated with the Erzulie family of spirits from the Dahomey kingdom in Africa, so that’s where i start… (this is through a Haitian inspired voodoo, in Santeria she’s Yemaya, interestingly Yemaya and Erzulie both have similar origins in Africa).

The 21 praises of Tara are pretty much mantra practices based upon 21 emanations or aspects of the goddess Tara. I find it to be difficult to learn because i know absolutely nothing aboutnothing about Buddhism!! I’m still learning this!!

which neters do you like to work with in the egyptian pantheon and any tips how to get into "contact"? and yea while modern linguists like to disprove the hebrew origin theory, which used to be much more prevalent, if you study it's hard to deny significant influence on our letters imo. also im not a catholic either, im not a fan of their popery lol but its not even a very prominent religion here so I may look at it a bit more wide eyed lol I mostly just find the concepts of saints really cool since its basically just a continuation of roman hero cults. And I've read about yemaya a bit! are you like initiated to her? If yes what is it like? From my cursory reading I've found myself attracted to shango, which is also of the same african pantheon unless im mistaken? And yea same I've also found buddhism, while fascinating, really hard to penetrate. I guess it might be cause we just didn't grow up in like an "eastern" cultural background and even egyptian practices are kinda closer to a christian background. while the biblical timeline is totally off theres good evidence for actual pre-israel out of egypt, for example the oldest mention of the name yhwh (aka their version of set) on a stele there. although if you look into the history of canaanites in egypt it is not pretty (like the jewish hyskos who took over egypt for a while and literally worshipped apep (google will tell you they didnt but no way did they name their pharao apopi/apophis which is literally the greek name of apep) so I get why they don't like to talk about that much lol. anyways im gonna follow you follow me back!! also I gotta get going so ill check back in later today!

My main deity is Hathor, who I directly associate with Ishtar and Inanna in my own practice.. I feel like she is a dark feminine goddess, she is the one who introduced me to the LHP 😝 I am not sure if you ever heard the saying “everything leads to Egypt”? I used to say that a lot, now I say that everything leads to Babylon/Assyria or Mesopotamia lol the theory about Hebrew being the original language is usually a Christian belief, it’s one of the few things I tend to believe out of that tradition tbh lol once I left the church I realized that linguists don’t believe that, but like I mentioned i do think there is some truth to it bc sooooo much leads back to Mesopotamia including language!!!

I didn’t know that about Apep! Egyptian history is very vast and long, there is a lot i don’t know considering how much of an obsession I’ve had with that tradition it’s unbelievable!! I actually believe there is a whole lot of similarities between the Egyptian religion and the Hindu and Buddhist ones, in many ways the Egyptian religion isn’t easily penetrable either, it took me an eternity to understand so many things like the calendar, holidays, the language, the many aspects of the deities and the cosmos, etc. and I’m still learning new things about the Egyptian faith!! One of the only reasons why the Egyptian religion appears similar to the Christian faith is because at the turn of the century they began to interact and synchronize some things, i.e., Isis and her son with Mother Mary and her son, the ba as the Holy Spirit, etc.

I’m going to follow you back!

oh and the last thing you asked about communicating with deity.. I simply treat them in a Pandeist or Pantheist manner as well as if they were my friend, my guidance and counselor, there isn’t really any sort of particular thing I do special other than treat them no differently than i would my best friend or family member!!
