I grew up thinking other people must have had experiences like I did, until I found out that most don't.
So, I went looking for answers, and talking to everyone who would listen. Most people just shut down and avoided me because of that.
When I started seeing some correlations and similar things, it perked my interest. Monroe's book on out of body experiences was a good read back then, and shared some things with what I was already doing.
With some practices, I tried to keep an open mind and see if what they were writing or saying matched up with personal experience and the obvious veridical evidence I had/have. Most of it doesn't, tragically. Most of the writings and materials appear to fit fear religions and the make-believe worlds of those who have lost touch with reality. I'm not a fan of sky Santa or his flying minions, never was, never will be. I have trouble following people from the past barfing up nonsense practices, who were obviously suffering from untreated syphilis or advanced heavy metal poisoning.
So I made a rule that has served me well for a very long time.
The first step was to have myself examined, mentally and physically. Which turned out ok. Many people think their mental health issues equal special or magical, which is very rarely the case, because they can't pass rule number one.
So, rule number one turned out to be truth and fact, real things, real experiences, which can be verified or have veridical evidence. All else goes into the pile of interesting but unconfirmed, and possibly a brain fart, wishful thinking, dreaming, fantasy nonsense, mental health issues, etc.
That's basically it, one rule.
So, you will often hear me say, "just prove it" to people, because they usually can't, and they are so far down some rabbit hole that has never produced anything of value, that you can't convince them to stop and look around for real evidence. They are stuck in the same problem that most religions have, confirmation bias caused by the desire for something to be real or true, when it is plainly a rabbit hole that wastes time and energy and produces nothing of value. And if it isn't that, they usually have some vitriol attitude or other noxious lifestyle showing that they are simply a power-hungry sociopath or psychopath.
I was raised in a very strict Southern Baptist family that ended up switching over to Seventh Day Adventists, diet and all, following every rule. I suffered intense physical violence at the mere mention of the things I was experiencing, and for everything else you can imagine. No friends outside the cult. No TV. No radio. No dancing. No singing except in the church. The answer to everything was always some kind of beating or other torture. Two to three times a week at the church. Reading the bible from cover to cover, over and over, while being forced to participate in bible study as well. I have deep scars from beatings of all kinds that should have been a hospital visit, but I was told to suck it up and be a man. Broken bones, teeth knocked out, the whole torture scene from some movie. I was not fed properly either, and was barefoot most of the time except in church. Don't ever question why I hate these cults, and the morons that follow them. They need to be banned.
So some of you can imagine why I have such a distaste for the psychotic sky santa idea, and the cosplay fake christian agenda. They have no powers, nobody in that cult has had powers for a very long time. They only have brainwashing and violence. They produce nothing but brainwashed fear lemmings. Nobody is walking on water, or manifesting food, or anything else but judging each other on Sunday and talking shit behind each other's backs. I could add how much deviance just gravitates towards these folk, and how bad most of the evil spawn offspring end up, but you likely all have had your own experiences with the simmering hate and division cults hiding behind the love thy neighbor nonsense they never live up to.
Thus, anything that pukes up religious garbage in the practices goes into the trash bin as totally messed up fake BS, end of that story.
I have seen and interacted with some strange entity for years, the proof was that I was not alone in these interactions. If I bring it up to my sister, almost 60 years later, she still cries about that thing. It messed with all 3 of my siblings and myself for years.
I have been lucid and astral, oobe'ing away, seeing future events in my dreams that end up being confirmed, dreaming together with other people, sensing death from thousands of miles away, hearing what people are thinking, and more, for more than 6 decades.
You want to know what the psycho cult church said about my future dreams? I was possessed and needed an exorcism. Try being an innocent child on the other end of a bunch of crazy people that are trying to drive out some demon that doesn't exist. Yes, torture and abuse. These are the assholes of life that have no powers, no skills, no anything but belligerence and ignorance, hatred, division, misogyny, and worse. But, even starving and dying of thirst and abuse, I would not give in or back down to these jerks, I outlasted them, and I survived.
So, my path wasn't about finding, but about trying to figure out what is up with what is actually happening, and where that fits into the bigger picture of reality.
Since some practices might explain some of the bigger picture, I have always been interested in looking at them, and experimenting with some of them.
These many paths have taught me that not everything ends up as some stupid brain fart cult of some sociopath (even though most are), like the tulpa, egregore and other formats where when enough of the lemmings get together, and are chanting the same thing for hundreds of years, they can actually create these giant and confused turds and cause beings of a sort to exist.
So, we can create things, even evil things. (Mostly evil things)
I personally think evil is the easy thing for humans to embody, and create, because most of them are born of the cesspool, and are greedy, selfish, hateful monsters. So this is the energy they thrive on and reproduce. Everything about most societies is dog eat dog and manipulate or take before you get taken.
When I run across a fellow traveler that is not a selfish monster, it is quite refreshing and restores a little bit of hope that humanity isn't all rotten. Yet, the popularity of certain practices says it all.
If I were asked by an alien race that could destroy the planet, why it should keep humanity alive, I would struggle to find any reason to keep this cancer on this planet.
