If you cant see a color, try a sensation.

Imagine being in a clear sky day with little clouds and focus your throat, the taste of orange juice spiriling in your sacral era, a huge garden in your chest....

Can be a set of pictures, a taste, a sound, a memory...

Those chakra don't exist as such. They are constructs that help you to harmonize your general energy.

I see them as complex nodes, meeting points of multiple energy currents. Very organic. Part of a greater treelike structure that is your entire energy body, that in turn mirrors your physical body.

That's not what I visualise though, it's what I see when I look.

The Ouroboros effect, where you have to open up or connect with something, to experience something, but the connection determines whether or not you can connect and experience something.
This is where energy exercises like meditation, visualization, Qi or Kundalini, and breathing practices, supply the fuel that feeds the ability to change your state, to an altered state, or other format of perception, to sense (feel or see) energy. So internal energy being stored and cultivated can supply the desired end result. You don't get the end result first, or just because you want to visualize it. You can create false feelings and impressions with the desire to sense chakras. But that desire doesn't supply the actual energy or the energetic clarity to perceive that energy, that comes with practice and proper storage and cultivation. Which takes work, and that is sometimes 4 hours every day of meditation, breathing, and other combined practices that are geared towards energy perception.
Just know that the energy travels certain paths, is stored in places, is cultivated in places, and that storing and cultivation leads to natural awareness changes that can include seeing or feeling energy. You don't start at knowing, feeling, seeing chakras unless you are born with some special skills or have practiced cultivating the necessary energy and apply it properly.
There are no shortcuts unless you are born with skills.
If this is your first round of trying to visualize something, start with something easier that you know, like a fruit or some other known object that you can study in front of your physical eyes, and then close the eyes and recall it. You do this to exercise your visual skills. You can move on to 3D objects and rotating them in your mind, change their colors, etc., until you are adept at the visualization portion.
You can clap your hands together a few times, then place them close to each other and change the distance very slightly and slowly, just to remember how subtle energy feels. I find that things like riding an elevator helps release my feeling and sensor systems, those butterflies you get can be used to reach out and feel things if you let them.
I've never been a fan of seeing auras or chakras for one reason, and that is because they change. They sometimes change very rapidly. One momentary glimpse of someone's current energy is not any realistic depiction of anything but that moment, and has nothing to do with any permanent state or fixed defining factor of their person. Energy centers are always functioning, nothing there changes just because you can perceive them now. Yes, I'm saying that defining a person by their current aura color or chakra visuals is a bad idea in my opinion. Like judging someone's hair on a bad hair, or good hair, day.
The same is true of pumping a bunch of energy into your own chakras without having any discipline or control, you simply create imbalances of energy that will return to homeostasis as soon as possible. Energy manipulation like this is a practice, and called a practice because you have to continue to practice to maintain any gains. Over time you end up setting a new level of homeostasis that is more efficient and directs energy to match where your mind directs it. But that can take many years and a lot of devotion. It is not something you just pick up overnight or have success with immediately. In case you weren't aware, actual energy practices, like Kundalini, are achieved after 10 to 40 years of consistent and devoted practice.
