How many results does my search return

Not at all literate in queries or search modes so maybe this just isn't possible but I was wondering if it would be possible to include the number of results for a given search? Personally it can tell me if I need to adjust my search parameters.

You should be able to have a rough idea from the number of pages that your search results in.
