Recently i read that the crescent moon isn’t really an Islamic symbol
it started in Byzantium
a Christian city that worshipped Diana
the moon once saved them so they put it on their flag

then the Ottomans conquered that city
renamed it Istanbul
kept the crescent as their own
they ruled for 500 years as the Caliphate
so the crescent became linked to Islam
it’s less about faith
more about empire and victory over Christendom
that’s why you see it on so many flags today
