[Help] How to Keep an Occult Journal: Structure, Documentation, and Analysis

How should one properly write and structure a journal (daily record) in the study and practice of occult sciences? What information should be documented, such as dates, intentions, rituals, observations, symbols, dreams, results, and personal reflections? How can such a journal be organized systematically so that patterns, changes, successes, failures, and long-term developments can be reviewed and analyzed objectively?

After having not used a real journal for some time I started again last year. To be able to make sense of my terrible handwriting afterwards, I use different colored pens (example: black for thoughts, blue for dreams, red for results) Also, because it's inevitable that a lot of these incredibly unique insights really are useless garbage, I mark every spell / ritual with a pentagram to catch my eyes.
