I am unable to figure out how to quote a previous post in my reply.

I'm not sure if there's a page explaining how the site works, but here's how to quote a message:

1. In the original message, select the sentence or passage you want to quote.
2. Click “+ Quote.”
3. When composing your reply, click the small “Insert Quotes” rectangle in the lower-left corner.
4. Then click “Quote Message.”

The selected passage will then appear as a quote in your reply.

There you go—a little help to get you started!
